Dread Lords appearing in DA

I have a question, not sure if it's a bug or not, but the game I'm currently playing, the Dread Lords popped up. Figuring they'd be strong, I sent a bunch of both air ships and probably 12 billion troops. Well, when I landed the troops, they had 20(million I think). They killed a sizable number for such a small number, but I could've done it with a sizably smaller army. What gives?

They do start out quite weak, and they take a while to build up. So if you want a challenge, for now, just leave them alone until they get some ships built.

all I can say is speed bump. Both times they showed up I had disrupter Tech and Advance Troop Mod. Dread Lords arrive still born IMHO

post patch, when the DL showed up on me in two games, their population was 20!!! just 20. I don't recall if it was thousand, or million. but it was just the number 20!!

Yah, that's what I had. I assume it's million, since I know I sent 12 billion and it was like 12000.

Yup, they've been buffed a little post 1.5X but it's not enough to keep them alive. Plus they still have that bug where they open negotiations with you, which is ridiculous.

How do you do that, so I know? I tried the major and minor screens, couldn't find them to talk to them.

You can't initiate it, which is fine because it shouldn't be possible at all. For some reason, though, they aren't set up properly and will sometimes declare war on you or make peace with you. When they go to make peace you can negotiate and trade with them, which has to be one of the biggest exploit holes in the game right now. They're supposed to be at war with all powers at all times (and be strong enough to be able ot make a reasonable showing that way) but right now they're broken.

Ahh, ok. I always thought it was odd when I used transports to take over the planet and the box popped up saying I was declaring war on them. I thought we already were ha ha.
