Dread Lords required for DA?

I've got GC II but never bothered to get Dread Lords. So is Dread Lords required for DA? If it's not required what benefit would I get from having Dread Lords as well as DA?
Any ideas?

GC2 *is* Dread Lords. That's the full title of the game-- Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords. Don't confuse GC2 with GC1 or GC1's expansion, Altarian Prophecy.

GC2: DL is required in order to download or use DA. If you don't have GC2 already, your cheapest option is to buy GC2:Gold which includes both GC2 and DA.

Ok - Don't I feel an Idiot......
Shows how much I played it....My excuse it that the limted edition I have doesn't mention Dread Lords anywhere on the box/CD or Manual.....
