Carbon UI - The Black User Interface Mod

Greetings,

First time posting for me in this section, so i would like to offer you an interface mod that will make the classic "whiteish" user interface with black text of Galciv2 in something more dark, a little cyberpunk...
Now this one is a black interface with a near white text that you can use as a mod like it's prepared in the zip (with a readme inside) or if you want you can overwrite your Screens folder (make sure you did a backup first and prior any update) so you can play your metaverse games (i don't think the game will say that you are a cheater because you used black windows, but tell me if it's not true...)

Due to the fact that is 15MB i cannot uploaded correctly into the library, so for this reason i must say thanks to the TBSModder.Co.Uk site for hosting my mod...

Every screen in the game was converted to black, but i didn't have time to make so many screenshot, so a little feedback to let me know if this was a good or a bad idea, is truly appreciated!

I agree, it's awesoem looking, I just want to be sure that it will fly with the metaverse.

kudos to you!

you know, there are several mods out there, mostly aesthetic changes, that i'd love to combine. it's just a bit of work. it'd be cool if SD developed a way to analyze combine mods (if and when they don't affect the same aspects of the game)... cool, but probably not work the effort.

Unfortunately it will not, because with the new features of Dark Avatar, new pieces of buttons and interfaces did went here and there, i'm sorry

@KidGloves: if you try to run it as a mod, you can't go Metaverse of course... You should try backuping you Galciv2\DarkAvatar\Screens and replace with the CarbonUI\Screens, that way you can play black with mods deactivated... let me know if in that way will let you send scores to Metaverse

There are some things like the blank things you left over which are very similar to my version!

you should give credits, that would be the minimum!

either you are a Thief, or you're just a Cloner!

let's put it like this... before telling some one being a thief that person had to actually stolen something...

Looks my screenshot... did you a orange black title screen?

DID YOU CONVERTED ALL THE INTERFACE WINDOWS? or only the black bottom window?

Did you corrected the color of the text in every window to not display a black text on a black window??

What are you claiming?

And more over is your UI mod for Dark Avatar (even being so much incomplete)?

I'm happy that you like me had contributed to the community, but man, i had to open EVERY dxpack, correct every packages.ini and packages2.ini and made EVERY png in black...

What are you complaining at? I did these for myself... And i shared them... that was an error??

I dunno... tell me please...

the color changes when you choose a color for your interface, you're mod was inspired by my existing, I have no problems when you want to improve it and make it for DA, and make more windows, I would like it, but you didn't gave any comment to me, thats my problem and therefore I was a bit disappointed, you would understand me when you would be in my position. Giving credits to modders who inspired you is a code under Modders.

Stefan, i'm feeling very sorry but, i don't even was aware of the existance of your mod... i was only inspired by the game title Dark Avatar... that was not so Dark...

i'll clip in some more screenshot so you can see by yourself i didn't used any of your files... i just imported pngs in photoshop and did a color balance (ctrl+l) from a 255 to 100... every one can do it infact i never said it was revolutionary... it was done only to enjoy the game better...









Here you can see that it's not only the main bottom ingame window you done in black, but the entire game is...

I hope i convinced you that i'm not a thief...

I'm very sorry about situation, really 'cause you are one of my fav modders doing all the ship mods of my fav tv show Star Trek...

You see, even if i convert from scratch a ship from that tvshow you'll always have yours that were created first (i did an nx01 with transparent textures somewhere to reflect the race color you chose )... and you would have called me cloner (or thief) too... But i saw often in modding communities different version of same thing modded without being any mere chance but totally 100 chances

I hope when the times will come that i can loan some of your wonderful ship for my GalCiv2 Allstars (private project until is ready to be released... i've no much spare time, real life sucks ) and be happy to credit you properly as your works (that i surely respect) in the txt file...

Misunderstandings happens, especially if my english isn't good enough to able to say things that i want to say or saying them in the wrong tone, or whatever... i try my best
And i'm really waiting for the X3GC2 to be released, as i'm huge fan of the series too (i have from X to X3 gold ) With the killer feature of Race Creation and the standard ship design per race there will be tons of new ideas

Returning on topic... did someone tested it? bugs present? someone used it as a main replacement without using mods and tried Metaverse?

Nothing to make me aware of? (if there is actually someone using it )
