Crash at boot

Hi,

I just installed bootskin, but when I apply a skin and reboot the computer it will display the bootskin but when its supposed to continue into windows the entire system hangs. Absolutely noting Works i cant even change the lights on the numlock button. Nor do I get a blue screen of death.

I use the computer for simple low performance things in my car like GPS and playing MP3’s

Here are the system specs:

PCChips m780
VIA Samuel 2 795 MHz
512 MB Ram
Windows XP Professional with Service pack 2

http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?DetailID=247&MenuID=25&LanID=0

I have no idea what the problem is I tried all three versions of bootskin and I deleted the vidstub.sys file as suggested by the website. But the problem still remains. I’ve tried the skin at my regular desktop and it works without any problems.

So if anyone has any idea what the problem might be please tell me,

Greetings,

Lord Erwin

When this happens it's usually a conflict with the BIOS. Some systems will just not work with Bootskin because of it, sounds like your system is one of those. I don't think there's anything that can be done to fix it.

Some motherboard bios' just don't like Bootskin, I know mine doesn't - I just get a blank screen. Probably doesn't seem very helpful, but if you cannot get any version of Bootskin to work you may well have to go without using it

I experience a crash every time with one particular skin (my favorite, of course). That is only half of my problems, however... All skins look wrong - it is as if they had only four colors or something. Could this be the result of said bios incompatibility, or is there something else I should look into? Thanks in advance. I drive a Windows XP Professional SP2.
