SD Virtual Desktops and Outlook 2003

Problem with phantom windows in Task Bar

I have been unable to fix this annoying problem, and maybe someone else has run into the same issue.

The problem occurs using XPpro, and SD Virtual Desktops, with MS Outlook... when I close an Outlook window I've opened (or any Outlook popup), and switch to another desktop, then back to the desktop that has Outlook, the old windows are still listed in the task bar... but the actual window was already closed.

I am at my wits end... latest vid drivers, latest versions of Virtual Desktop, etc... any suggestions?

This is happening to me too.

Whenever I switch desktops and return to the desktop containing Outlook, reminders that I already acknowledged re-appear and emails that I've read and closed re-open themselves, and are often empty.

As time passes, it gets worse and more windows re-appear.

Ugh.

It's not just Outlook. See my post just below yours vis-a-vis Java apps. I thought I had it fixed with the exclusions, but now they are back doing the same things, closed windows reopening, and even refusing to close again, after a DT switch.

I'm seeing some weird behavior between SD Virtual Desktop and Outlook 2002. If I open Outlook on a desktop, and switch around to the other desktops, and come back to the desktop that Outlook was originally opened, it disappears and the entry on the taskbar is also gone. However, if I look in task manager, the Outlook process is still running. If I relaunch Outlook, it appears in a different location that what it normally does (which tells me Outlook thinks another 'copy' is already running). I too would be interested in knowing whats going on and any fix for this.

This is an old thread, but I gotta chime in because I'm having this strange problem with my copy of Outlook 2007. It would appear that subsequent versions of Outlook have not caused the problem to go away. Are there any thoughts?

This issue is mostly resolved. It happened for a while, then I rebooted and it hasn't happened since...
