How to use Mods?

Hello:
I have just bought the game and installed the updates. It looks like alot of fun.
Some of the mods also look great, however I'm having a very tough time getting them to work. One especially is the "Kryo's Hull mod". I have followed the instructions (put in GalCiv2/Mod folder, run the BAT file, in game go to options, click "use mods"), but the Kryo mod doesn't show up at all. The same is true for all the mods I have tried.
Can someone help? I'm sure i just need a push in the right direction to get me going.
I have tried Kryo's forum link page, others seem to have the same problem, but no help has been offered.
Thanks for helping

Did you update to the latest version first? (1.4X IIRC)

Did you move ModDescription.xml into the folder along with the copymodels.bat? This is required for the game to recognise that a mod is present.

You also need to click the 'Change' button on the mods directory setting below the Use Mods toggle, and slect KHSM in that list. If you don't have this option, you need to update the game. If you have it but KHSM is not listed there, you did not unzip it in the right location (also make sure that you maintian the same directory stucture as in the zip--most zip programs should do that by default).

Hello and thanks for replying:
In my GalCiv2/Mods folder i have created another folder Hull Mod. I put Kryo's mod in there including the Moddescription.xml and the copymodels.bat. In the game I clicked "use mods", clicked changed and changed to the proper folder. In the space provided just above the "change tab" there is Kryo's Hull S Mod (can't remember the exact name). However I am not able to check or click on this it's just there. Is this correct?
Perhaps I already have the mod correctly installed and don't realise it.
Any more help would be great
Thanks again..

If you have the directory laid out like in the inset of the image below, the mods directory selection window should look like in the image. If this is the case, the mod should be properly installed.
