JU Writers Club Challenge 2

Hung, drawn and quartered (but not pierced)

“Are you sure it doesn’t hurt, Chels?”

“I didn’t say it wouldn’t hurt, Ginny, I said it wouldn’t hurt much.”

Chelsea held the ugly looking needle over the candle flame. The other girl squirmed under her. “Look, if you don’t want it, just say the word.”

“No, I want it, I want it.” Ginny didn’t sound like she wanted it, though.

“Look, Ginny, it hurts but the ice helps, ‘kay? I’ve done it before. It hurts a bit at first but then it is alright. Just trust me, ‘kay?” She looked down at the other girl, trying to make her face as sincere as possible.

Ginny squirmed a little more. “My arm is going to sleep. Can you let me move it a bit?” Chelsea shifted her weight and the other girl let out a sigh of relief.

“Oh, that’s better. It was really giving me pins and needles.” Ginny giggled. “Pins and needles, get it?” She giggled again.

Chelsea swore and dropped the needle. “Ouch… Shit, where did go?”

“What happened?” Ginny sounded worried again.

“The needle got real hot and I dropped it. Just stay still. It is somewhere on the bed and I don’t want you to roll on it.” Chelsea delicately felt around the top of the bedspread for the missing needle. “Shit, shit, shit…”

Ginny let out a yelp. “Ow, its sticking in my arm. Quick, pull it out.”

“Just stay still while I look at it, will you. Oh, its not even the sharp end, Gin. It didn‘t even break your skin. Don’t be such a sook. Okay, I’m going to do it now. Are you ready?”

Ginny squirmed and wriggled around. “I have to do the ice thing first. Just wait.” With her free hand, she reached over to a glass on the bedside table. She grabbed a couple of ice cubes from it and pressed them against her navel. As she did, she giggled. “Ooo, its cold. Are you sure this will work, Chels?”

“Just keep holding the cubes there. I’ll heat up the needle.” Again, she held it over the candle flame. “Okay, are you ready now?” She pinched the skin below her friend’s navel and tried to push the needle through the pinch. Ginny let out a horrendous scream.

“Stop it, stop it, its not working.” She squirmed away from the needle, and in doing so, scratched herself across the belly. She screamed again.

“Ginny, stop screaming, will you? Someone will think you’re being attacked.” Chelsea sounded pissed off. “Its only a little scratch. I get worse from my cat all the time.”

Ginny sat up slightly and looked at her belly. “Well it hurt.” She sounded petulant. “And look at my belly button. Why didn’t the needle go through?”

“I didn’t push it hard enough. I‘m going to have to try again.”

“I don’t know, Chels, it really hurt. I don’t think I can do this.” Ginny sounded almost apologetic.

“Yes you can. C’mon Gin, it will look so cool. You know it will.” She looked thoughtful, then grinned. “I’ve got it. How about we get something to drink? If you get pissed, it won’t hurt so much.”

Ginny thought about it for a second. “I don’t know, Chels. What if…“

Chelsea grabbed the other girl by the shoulders and shook her gently, “Aw, c’mon Ginny, you worry too much. Let‘s have some fun.”

Later…

When Ginny’s parents came home, they expected to find the girls watching the DVDs they’d rented. But the bag was still sitting on the kitchen bench where they’d left it.

They gave each other a look only parents know and both marched up the stairs to their daughter’s room. They heard laughter and music coming from behind the closed door.

Without knocking, they opened the door. Their daughter’s friend, Chelsea, was sitting astride their daughter and holding a bottle of 1961 Penfolds Grange Shiraz to her lips. Virginia was giggling, slurping at the bottle neck and obviously drunk already. Wine was running out of her mouth, down her chin and across her chest. She was only wearing a bra. Her wine-stained shirt was on the floor beside her bed, along side a similar bottle of 1964 Shiraz. The wine was worth at least $1500 per bottle, but not anymore. They both let out gasps of dismay.

The girls first looked surprised to see the adults at the door. But then the giggles set in. Hell, the girls knew they were in a shitload of trouble so having a giggle wasn’t going to make matters any worse.

Wow, Maso!    You had to put some thought into this one! And I'll bet the pull to the salacious side was darn near (darn? WTF? damn ) near irresistable. Excellent! I am amazed at your creativity and imagination

Shovel,

the pull to the salacious side

Oh, yes, I had quite a number of 'thoughts' along those lines, believe me. In fact, at first I wasn't sure if I'd be able to come up with anything else. Your picture made it hard (as in difficult)

Kelly,

I'm pleased you enjoyed it. How was Hawaii?

Isn't that the truth . . .

Very interesting.  I loved the image at the end of them, totally pissed, and just not caring of the trouble they were in.  Very well written.

San Chonino,

Thanks mate. Yes, there was no accounting for my runaway imagination when I first saw the 'inspiration'.

BlueDev,

Thanks to you too, mate.

Tova

I wanted the girl's personalitys to show through their dialogue, which I think I achieved. Glad you enjoyed it.
