Themes not applying, drawing slowly

Hello,

I tried to search the forums to find a post that addressed what was happening on my computer, but I couldn't find one.

I recently purchased and installed WindowBlinds and other ObjectDesktop products. When I try to apply a theme, or have a theme apply on startup, WindowBlinds acts like its attempting to apply a theme, even showing the Please Wait screen, but when it goes away the desktop is unchanged except for a slightly larger Windows taskbar and text. Also, when trying to change the skin in WindowBlinds, the application window does not have any borders along with the fact that it does not have any buttons to slide left or right, it simply appears black. Clicking in the area where it should be does not change things (or so I assume, its hard to click a button where you don't know exactly where it is).

I've noticed people on the forum usually first ask for the System Information page to be posted, so here you go:

WindowBlinds 5.1 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

You have one monitor in total.

(Plug and Play Monitor) 1 is attached to Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family

Wblind.dll 2006/10/09 10:24:20
Wblind64.dll 2006/10/09 11:51:37
Wbsrv.dll 2006/10/09 10:40:18
Wbconfig.exe 2006/10/10 16:39:13
Wbload.exe 2006/03/13 17:54:14
Wbhelp.dll 2004/09/18 16:37:07
Wbui.dll 2005/12/06 21:29:06
Tray.dll 2006/04/13 17:29:23

Both of the boxes at the bottom of the page are unchecked. I have tried seeing if checking the second box (on the right) would help (even restarted just to make sure), but it hasn't improved anything. Is there something simple I'm missing or doing wrong? Or is there a simple fix? I could try reinstalling, but I did just install WB so I didn't think it would be an issue. Your help is very welcome!

I also have been having this problem. It happens whenever I am not connected to the internet, (ie, my DSL modem is turned off or my service provider is down or having difficulties). However, once I turn on my modem and connect properly to the internet and then restart WindowBlinds I can then apply a theme.

My question? Is WindowBlinds dependent on a internet connection to work, (ie, does it need to dial home to confirm OD subscription status before it will work, each time it is started)?

Thanks in Advance

No.

I'm on dial-up. My skin choice is applied and can be changed with no problems, even if I never connect. Doesn't matter if it's WB, OD, DTX, etc.

Only things not working are those pieces that need the net - weather, rss, etc.

I could try reinstalling, but I did just install WB so I didn't think it would be an issue.

did ya'll download and install via normal download/install (regular browser, click download) or through SDC (Stardock Central Browser)?

the please wait should not be coming up on startup

do you have smart startup enabled in SDC (settings - general - under 'enable sdmcp notification area support')

can the drivers be updated for your chipset?
