After 1 year subscription - What about activation?

Hi,

I bought Object Desktop. And it says that you can keep the things you have after that one year of subscription (but won't get new versions - don't know if it means just main or minor versions too?) BUT what about activation? I mean I can archive the program files but what if I get a new PC or something: What about activation? Would I still be able to activate those programs?
Hopefully: Otherwise I would have misunderstood something...

Also:
If I am using WindowFX and WindowBlinds together with a Vista Skin (WindowBlinds alone: No problem), if I go to "My Computer" through taskbar or through Desktop it sometimes (not always, don't know what need to be done before to get this problem, maybe a full screen Direct3D-Game or something like that):
I have the problem that it starts up correctly but at the moment it is completely viewable the bug appears and I get a black border on the right and on the bottom but it still is used for displaying content (a bit problematically to explain), if you then minimize and reactivate the windows it appears correctly.
One more thing: The problem appears less if I use the Desktop icon instead of the taskbar-icon but it can also appear there...
This problem not only exists for "My computer" I also got it at least once for "Network Environment" or how that one is called in English...

can you post a screen shot?

hit the print screen key, paste into paint or other graphics program
save the pic, upload to free site like photobucket or imageshack
copy the http url from there and put that here in the box when you click the 'insert image' icon.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

There you go...
Would have pasted it previously but I thought that for imageshack I would need to register and I didn't know another site where to upload pictures

open WB configuration - click system information on the left - copy and paste to here all the info that shows up

open WFX configuration - click Performance Advice - post a screen shot (it won't copy/paste)

WFX:
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

P.S.: The problem seems to be connected to the "Window Animations" Option becuase if I disable that one I can't reproduce it. Altough it so or so is a bit random (Window Animations), e.g. for Firefox I don't get it (but Window Transations work with Firefox) but for "My Computer" I get it, shouldn't it work for Firefox too?
For "My Computer" it sometimes comes up without Windows Transation and doing the Window Animations afterwards and therefore creating this problem.

ONE MORE THING:
Sometimes the Taskbar Previews aren't working (don't see them) but I don't know on what this depends either. Might be related to other problem?

P.S.2: I use Windows XP x64 Edition.

EDIT:
I posted additional information and I found out another thing:

If I use WindowFX Task Switching I also see WindowFX_64 in the task-list (although there is no such window). This might should be removed (not displayed)..?
P.S.3: The WindowFX "Task Switcher" could have a few effects too e.g. Expand the small images to the current desktop or something

P.S.4: The first time I installed WindowBlinds (with Administrator account but then opened it with restricted user account) I got the message that it can't write activation signature. I needed to let the user-account be an Administrator account some time to activate it or even better reinstall it through that account - so that account would write the signature file automatically.
First: Does that matter somehow for later activations because I tried to activate more than one time so (although always the same PC).
Second: Wouldn't it be better if activation is for whole PC or offer some possibility for a restricted user to write configuration file too? Because otherwise the installation of WindowBlinds everything works from a restricted user too...

Where did you download WB from?

The files aren't matching up.

Suggest you uninstall WB, reboot, if you're not using Stardock Central Manager, get it and install it, register your product, use it to download and install.

Stardock Central

WFX can't get your driver info. Drivers up to date?

Drivers are up-to-date (6.9 ATi Drivers for x64 Edition) and I downloaded WB from StarDock Central...

Maybe there are differences because I use Windows XP x64 Edition (e.g. that it can't detect driver version or that the files are different)..?

Should I try to install the Beta-Version of WindowFX? 3.00a[b].005?

OK.
I now reinstalled WB and also WFX but I still have this problem (it first comes up unskinned for one second or less and then it swtiches to skinned mode with WFX-Effect and afterwards it looks like in the screenshot)...
I also once tried with WFX Beta BUT there I had much more problems, e.g. invisible windows and that some effects - although active - weren't shown...

And I still get the following files:
Wblind.dll 2006/10/09 10:24:20
Wblind64.dll 2006/10/09 11:51:37
Wbsrv.dll 2006/03/17 11:16:39
Wbconfig.exe 2006/10/10 16:39:13

Wbui.dll 2005/12/06 21:29:06

Btw. the window if you press CTRL+ALT+DEL (if you are using old Windows-Login-Mode - the "menu" with the six buttons where you can choose to e.g. Lock the Workstation; I can't post a screenshot because it doesn't want to create one of that screen) doesn't get skinned. Especially the buttons look not good there...
There might be some others like that one too but of course it are only a few special ones...

This one throws me off.... Wbsrv.dll 2006/03/17 11:16:39

Mine shows.... Wbsrv.dll 2006/10/09 09:40:18

Maybe it has to do with x64 = I don't know. I can't find that date in WB history. (Highlight WB in SDC, then click history down on the right corner).

There was a post about virtual desktops and 64 : reply by Nakor (Stardock):

Not every app gets an x64 version, given that one can't really go out and buy a PC with it. As Vista x64 becomes more widespread, 64-bit will become more common. But not in 2006.

Not applicable here, but I noticed in WFX's history there seems to be a lot of tweaking for 64. Maybe it's not quite ready for it? You might consider emailing support or going to the Stardock support page and putting in a help ticket.

I wonder if that one is tied to logon? Logon studio doesn't work on domains... maybe that window makes the products think your on a domain and doesn't skin it?
I don't recall ever seeing that window in any screenshots.

Support should know the answer.

WB should allow all users access.

Just a thought in case this: Wbsrv.dll 2006/03/17 11:16:39 truly doesn't belong and is incorrect:

Move all your WB skins, install and run The Zapper (pick WB only) then try a download/reinstall of WB via SDC.
