Betanews has the 2.0 final.

The question is though is it the same build id as RC3...? As I see nothing on auto update yet.

It's not the first the last release was just the same number as the last release candidate.

It's released on the ftp site. They just haven't "officially" announced it until later today or tomorrow.

Wow, this is a solid release. Enjoying the new functionality. (Also Jafo won't be having to correct as many spelling mistakes, as it has a built in spell checker.)

Built in spellchecker? Where? I haven't seen that.

if you type in something wrong it gets underlined in red

Be still my heart !
A spell checker - thats one thing i missed about explorer - this is good news for me - i hate typos if im not fast enough to correct them before another post comes in.

Been reading on the Linux forums about how much of a memory hog Firefox has become. For example I have 4 tabs open and FF is sucking down 60 to 70 megs of memory. And I'm using FF 1.5.07. So suffice it to say I'm not upgrading to 2.0 and will be looking for a different browser.

ffox is a memory hog...but i cant find a browser i like more (and i did use opera)

Been using it for several months and there's no way I can go back to IE. Even if the browsers were equal, the extensions put FF way over the top. If anal retentive nits want to whine about memory let them. We get the same foolishness in windowblinds discussions.

There are people who nitpick about there computers, and then there are people who use them. If you don't have enough ram, buy more. If you don't know how to put it in, you aren't knowledgeable to be whining about ram in the first place.

I have 4 tabs open in IE7 and it's taking up about 75mb.

I have one tab open and it's using 58 megs..

Works just fine - i have tried going back to IE and it just doesnt compare to FF.

Baker - Some of use have to worry about memory as we don't have much to work with and are not in a financial posistion to get more. Think before you type man.

Yeah, I thought about it. Nit seemed to be the appropriate word for people who blame software developers for their financial situation. I don't fault you for not being able to buy ram, but then why fault Firefox?
