Hey everyone! We are closing in on the Diplomats, it won't be too much longer. I would also like to give a congrats to Wyndstar, our new #1 player in our empire!

Thanks for noticing Alex. I continue to deconstruct the scoring formulas. Each section I get nailed down is another piece I can then exploit and maximize while in game. I *almost* managed to break 100k on a small map...(97650) I think given one more shot I can do it. But ya never know. The one I did it on only generated 72 colonies. Give me two more colonies on the map and I think I would have gotten it.

We are really starting to gain ground on the Diplomats. I wish both of us well, but it will be a happy day if we do manage to actually overtake them. I will continue to try and do my part.

Also, for everyone in our empire, I'm running an unofficial tournament. If you have the time, please play and post a game. I can't wait to tally the results. Tournament Info

I'm cloning your playing style so thank you for the tips, it lead to my highest score and what would have been another 40,000 plus score but for a cheat flag(economy bug).

Keep up the great work and make sure to keep those game analysis coming, they are great help!!

For a pretty detailed description of one of my latest games, read the Altarian Rebellion AAR story and game description I put together. The thread contains some pretty high level strategies in there too... and should help some of you see what I do to score like I do. It represents just one of my playstyles, but you still might find a trick or two you haven't seen before.

Good luck. We are really catching up to the Diplomats, but they have a dozen players that are quiet for a month while they work on their half million point games, so they could shoot ahead quickly.

Great info on that AAR Wyndstar, thankyou. A question though. You mentioned buying a planet from the Terrans, a talent you are still learning. Would you mind spilling the beans on this. I have never managed to do it. If you wan't to keep this a trade secret maybe post the answer in the HCH forums?

It took awhile, but we finally did it. Congrats to everyone in the HCH! Our membership has expanded to 210 members, and we are closing in on 2000 games played.

Not at all, but I'm very much a novice. You should ask someone who is good at it to tell you more. Basically, from what I can tell, the price of a planet as determined by the AI is a combination of PQ of planet, population CURRENTLY on the planet, and distance of planet from the home system (whichever system has the little crown symbol).
In that game, I noticed the Terrans had all of their planets clustered, except for one which was a PQ4, 4 sectors from their home system, with a population of less than 100 million. I made them an offer they wouldn't refuse. Still expensive tech wise, but I felt it was worth it. Some of the best players - Magnumaniac for instance, claims he has played entire games without firing a shot, just buying all the planets. The larger your military, of course, the better deals you can also get from the AI. I still can't play by just buying people out, especially not their home system, but I have heard it can be done. As I said, I'm still learning. There may be more tricks to it I don't know yet.

Alex has done a phenomenal job with the High Command Hegemony. On behalf of myself and the H.C.H. council, I would like to thank everyone for their hard work... or play...   

We, as an Empire, have achieved the #1 ranking on the Metaverse, scoring over 7.5 million points in an unprecedented amount of time.

Alex founded the H.C.H. on 1 very simple principle. Play the game to play the game. Not for glory, not for score, not to make a name for the H.C.H. Just to play the game as we see fit, and most importantly, have fun doing so. This philosophy coupled with Alex's ability to connect with people, stirred the very foundation of the Metaverse and lifted the H.C.H overlord population to astounding heights, currently the H.C.H. has 210 Overlords and counting. We are not the only factor as to why the Metaverse competition has increased, but we are indeed a factor none the less. In a very short time we grew from a small, barely noticeable Empire, to an Empire that spans the four corners of the globe... literally!

Once again, Thanks to Alex for creating such a wonderful community, and thanks to all those overlords out there, past and present, who have contributed to this community so greatly and in so many different ways!

We should all be very proud of this accomplishment.
