Latest Yahoo Music Engine Crashes with Beta WB5

I attempted to run the latest Yahoo! Music Engine with the latest WindowBlinds beta 50116 and it refuses to load.

I am running version 2.0.0.131 of Yahoo! Music Engine.

A tangential issue also occurred where I was unable to install YME and had to install in Safe Mode. I believe this is unrelated, but thought should mention.

You might want to sent this to support@stardock.com. That's the official support channel.

In the meantime, just exclude the app.

What is the filename of Yahoo Music Engine?

It should be auto excluded from WB, but Yahoo seem to love to change filenames.

I excluded the following files

YahooMusicEngine.exe

ymetray.exe

ymusicid.exe

I did notice over on Yahoo someone else seemed to have the issue. Total Exclusion on all of these.

The executable is the one I downloaded from this location
http://music.yahoo.com/jukebox/

following their instructions for installation.

YahooMusicEngine.exe should already be excluded.

I will send a note to support on this as well, but excluding all of the Yahoo applications completely from skinning does not solve this problem anymore. It does allow the application to get further along in the startup, but after the window opens, it says it is writing a debug log and then crashes anyway. I had been running this version of Yahoo Music's client with a previous beta version of WB 5, although I'm not sure which version it was. The crash is only occuring since I did an upgrade. I'm sure that this is something stupid on Yahoo's part, but they have horrible support and I'm hoping you guys can work around it on your end.

The information from Windowblinds is:

Hold down ctrl when loading their app (until it has finished loading).  Does it help?  If not, does it actually work without WB?

There is a small chance they have done something very very stupid, but I hope the ctrl trick works.

Well, it appears that they are doing "something very very stupid". The Ctrl key trick didn't do anything. In fact, it actually made it worse. Let me try to be really specific in what I'm seeing to see if it helps at all. Again, this all worked fine until the recent WB release, so something changed in between WB versions to bring out the Yahoo stupidity. I have all executables in the Yahoo music directory completely excluded via WB.

If I have Appearance set to "Windows XP style" Yahoo Music works as expected with or without the Ctrl key. Unfortunately, no skinning on anything. If I turn on a WB skin with Yahoo open and touch the Yahoo music window, it crashes. It doesn't seem to matter whether the skin has alpha blending or not.

If I have Appearance set to a WB skin, the Yahoo splash screen will come up and it will go through the plugin loading process, showing what plugins are loading. Then the main window opens and it crashes.

If I have Appearance set to a WB skin and hold down Ctrl, the Yahoo splash screen will come up and then it will crash *while loading the plugins*. So, it doesn't even get to the main window when Ctrl is held down.

Obviously, this is frustrating and annoying. I'm hoping you guys can come up with a plan, since Yahoo isn't going to come through on this one.

That's my info. I'm having problems with yahoo skipping songs. I turn windows blinds on and off and have done just about everything, but it won't work.

If yahoo is skipping songs and turning WB off makes no difference then the problem is nothing to do with WB.
