Allow minor races to colonise their home system fully

Having all those major civs in the system and 1 minor planet is just strange

Minor civilizations should be allowed to colonise their home system fully and should do so at the same speed as the other civs do the entire galaxy.

If this were allowed, it would make them major races, defeating there purpose, they r mean't to play a minor role in galactic affairs.

Also u r limited to 10 major races, full stop. In Dark Avatar u will have more than 10 but will still only be able to have yr self and 9 other major races (ie...10 total), even when there will be 12+ major races to choose from. I think they r limited by the original game design, so it's not changeable.

Of course it's changeable, 10 is just a number. I'm not saying there wouldn't be significant dev effort involved, though.

It would be great to blur the boundaries between major and minor races. Then, the "major" races would merely be the ones better off at the game start.

I bet its a resource issue again... the more players, the more the cpu has to think to coordinate all the races. Minor races probably have like a "magic 8 ball" AI that is relatively simple and random.

I agree, minor races should be more important. A couple of them are unadvanced, though - I think I've seen the Snathi with 'jet fighters'. I really don't understand why the Dark Yor are so unimportant. The rest I can pretty much understand, they're mostly unsophisticated. The Dark Yor are supposed to be an even nastier, more aggressive variety of the Yor - who are obviously very sophisticated. It makes no sense at all for the Dark Yor to be so restricted.

Agree 100% with this. When I first bumped into this minor race, I thought, oh dear they r going to be trouble, but no just another minor race. It would have been cool if they were to build military ships and every so often go out and cause mayhem.

A nice game idea:

- We all begin as minor civs (like 25+). But after X number of weeks, the 6-7 most powerful are crowned "major civs", and they are granted special influence and diplomacy bonuses. But there would still be a major landscape of minor civs to play around with. Major would have to ally them, or conquer them. Those who, after some time, manage to stay independant power, may form the I-League.

It's not the Minor civs who should be castrated, it's the major who should be crowned.

And we could tell definitively who is a Major by which civs get a vote when interstellar issues need decisions; I could see that roster of Majors change from vote to vote depending on the ebb and flow of the game.

This is only their home system, I am not suggesting they colonise any other system. The major races can colonise other systems, the minors can't. They do however colonise there own system.

The minor civs should go through the following stages

1. Coloninise home system
2. Once home system colonised, focus on research and social and militery ships.
3. After a certain point, begin to colonise again, any system can be colonised.
4. Once the minor has no systems left to colonise, focus again on research and social and expecially the production of militery.

This should ensure that minor races are handicapped in colonisation, but in a galaxy where the major races do not succeed in colonising all the planets in the other systems quickly, the minors will eventually do so.

Why are the dark Yor, not as dangerous as the Yor? Agressive doesn't necceserily make a society dangerous. A violent and hostile varient of Yor, could easily be hampered by internal strife, while less violent and hostile Yor, would be more harmonious.
