Is the Demo bugged?

I downloaded the demo yesterday and played through it some. At the end of the game I looked over all the scores screens to see how I'd done. One screen has me very confused. It shows the following scores with the highest scores noted with a *.

Race - Society - Technology - Economy - Military - Overall

My Race - 828* - 135* - 462* - 0 - 356

Comp 1 - 723 - 78 - 312 - 0 - 1113

Comp 2 - 682 - 82 - 308 - 0 - 1027

Comp 3 - 779 - 113 - 427 - 4* - 1323*

How did all 3 computer players have such high overall scores when I had the highest score in everything except the military category? Only comp. 3 had a higher military score and yet all of the comp. players have very high scores compared to my overall score.

well for one, the Demo is pretty outdated while there have been several patches to the game already and the demo lacks stuff thats in the main game.

that and the totall score is a mystery how they figure it out.

Well, for a start the military rating is generally the most important rating in my experience. It may be the fact that you've had a premature ending (Demo time out rather than a proper victory), which may count as a loss, thus decreasing your score.

Try playing a game with very fast tech, and only one opens. Then rush to Planetary Invasion and conquer them to get a swift military victory. See how the scores stack up then.
