I don't even know if there is going to be a 3rd Galactic Civilizations game, but I would like to know what do you think it will be like?

They've already confirmed it a long while ago. And I believe they already registered www.galciv4.com

AFAIK it was always going to be AT LEAST a trilogy. And I know that if Brad thinks he can do it and people still want it, it'll have tactical combat. The current poll refers to gc3 ideas.

It's not too early if the devs have done it for months

well, they haven't even completely finished 2 yet, (counting expansions). though, GalCiv III better not fall under the MOO curse of trilogies

I don't think there should be.

Isn't this GalCiv 2 engine capable of updating itself to look better as machines get more powerful? Unlimited polygon counts anyone?

stardock already said a few things about GCIII, in a pretty recent post he said what they will work on next.
i believe the expensionpack is coming out not for months and months (end of this year, could that be correct?).
and after that and a few updates they might start on GCIII, but that won't come out for years.

No, they said release date was fall/autumn. Which is a mere few months away (technically 2 or 3). Not quite the end if the year.
