| No, this would open a whole series of boxes of Pandora. Modded MV games were partly responsible for taking the fun out of the GC1 Metaverse. |
I understand this could be a problem. Thats why I said let only 'sanctioned' mods score in the metaverse. Those sanctioned mods would be tested for game balance and only 1 allowed per metaverse game( so u could not have a combo mod effect which will greatly advantaged u), this would inject more fun into metaverse games and mean u do not face a choice of a metaverse scoring game or a cool modded game.
Stardock probably do not have the time to sanction mods, too busy developing, the most we could expect from them to give us example mods (this is true in 1.2 I believe) and set up a system in the library to allow the GC 2 metaverse playing community to sanction there own mods.
A simple way of sanctioning mods for the metaverse would be a voting method, ie... u download a mod play it, if in your opinion its balanced and suitable for metaverse play u check 'yes suitable for metaverse' or 'no, imbalanced, unsuitable for metaverse'. Once lets say a mod has 100 votes with lets say 80% or above saying suitable for metaverse, its allowed to be used with no cheat flag.
All that is needed is basic ground rules to be agreed upon.
