UI bug, full fleet battle shown if 1 vs. 1

I just noticed an annoying issue, if you turn on the 'only show full battle if both sides are fleets' option, and you send a single ship against a single opponent, it will show the full battle. If you send a fleet against a single ship it does work as it should. It's quite annoying trying to kill all of an enemy's orbiting ships by splitting up the fleet, only to be slowed down by the whole full battle thing.

The same thing has happened to me for ages. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be intentional - but I don't really want to watch my Pursuit Ship knock off single transports.

I think it happens when you have single ship fleets (which might be caused by rally points)

Most (all?) times happens for me is when a planet with an orbital fleet manager has only one ship in orbit. The game probably needs to come down from the feeling that one ship is a fleet.

This is intentional.

Fleet Battles refers to a battle involving at least one fleet. (this also includes fleets formed by orbital fleet managers, even if there is one ship in the fleet)

1 on 1 battles are determined by the "Battle Length" option.

So if you have Battle Length set to Full, Full Fleet Battles enabled, and Show Full Fleet Battles only if both are fleets on, this is what will happen:
+ All 1 on 1 battles will take place in combat viewer
+ A battle involving only 1 fleet vs a single ship will take place on the map
+ A battle involving 2 fleets attacking each other will take place in combat viewer.

If you want to watch the full battles only if both sides are fleets, change you Battle Length to something other than full. Check Fleet Battles and Show Full Fleet Battles Only if Both Sides are Fleets.

It was designed this way so that you could have lots of ways to customize when you want to watch the full battles.

That actually makes sense. So if I set to 'full fleet battles', I won't get 1v1 but I'll still have full fleet battles?
