Groan... Updated too early...???

must show patience

Hello

I had version 1.1 beta 4b installed and couldn't resist checking if an update was available, and yes it was - 1.10.012 was showing as an update for me to download through SC.
Awesome, me thinks, and so off I start the download only to find that the game is now version...1.0x (dated 3rd March) and yet SC is showing that I have version 1.1 installed.
The interface and 'goodies' from the 1.1 beta 4b are gone and so it looks like the game has been 'downgraded' rather than upgraded

How can I play 1.0x after being used to the goodies offered in the 1.1 betas.....

If the above is due to the transition from the last beta to the final 1.1 then I urge a little caution, at least more than I showed, for people noticing an upgrade through SC - I wish I did as the betas are no longer there to update mine back too

1.0x is the OLD version. 1.1 beta 4 is the latest beta before 1.1's release within the next 24 hours. There is a rather long journal entry posted today about all the changes between 1.0x and 1.1

Yes I know that the 1.0x is the old version

I hoped by posting this it might serve as a warning to others that at this moment in time SC is showing 1.1 available BUT it will update your version to 1.0x. And the 1.1 beta 4b is no longer there to download.

Hopefully it will be sorted soon.

I don't have SDC installed on this computer.

There is usually a "show pre-release" button at the bottom of the screen. If that is checked, you won't see new "final" installs but you should see the betas.

Of course it's probably something as easy as someone updating the site for 1.1 faster than someone else got 1.1 ready for the site. It makes sense that the betas won't be available once 1.1 is out.

I do feel your pain. I'm curious to see the difference between 1.1 beta 4b and 1.1 release, but since they never posted 4b's availability and differences between 4b and 4a, that probably won't happen.

Thanks for the warning, I was about to make the same mistake.

Thanks for that - tried both ways still no joy with getting back to the 1.1 beta4b

Still at least this post might help a few others not do the same as I did.

I have read in the journal regarding the new final patch someone has posted that the final patch is version 1.10.14 and not the 1.10.12 that is showing now.

This just happenned to me as well. It would not load a saved game. I had enabled auto archiving in Stardock Central, which enabled me to rollback to Thursday's version of the beta.

Happened here as well.

Stay tuned, you managed to get the tiny window between the 1.1 files been actually uploaded and the verion numbering listing changing.

Another 10 minutes or so.

The SDC manager now shows 1.10.27 as the version to update to. Looks like we're good to go!

Please wait until the announcement just to be safe.

on our non-games, the file listings and the uploaded files show up at the same time because the file sizes are so small so uploading on the server happens quickly.  But on GalCiv, since it's so much bigger, there's a lag time between it showing the file and the right files being there.

Just wait for the announcement, should be in another 5 or so minutes.

If you updated early and it set the game version back, you can fix it by right clicking on Gal Civ2 in SDC, then clicking on "check for updates".

Major props most games the creators treat everyone on the forum as idiots and really dont get on them very much.

You guys rock, keep up the good work.
