Immortality Event?

I've seen the event where the "the declining XYZ race has found a precursor device that makes them vastly more powerful" or something along those lines.

What the heck does that do? (if this is not the immortality event please tell me so)

I've seen this message too, along with a dire warning that unless I do something, they will take over the galaxy. No idea what it means.

What ended up happening, did you notice anything? Was it a minor or major race that it was referring too?

The way that event worked in GC1 was that the given AI basically gained a small amount in EVERY ability each turn until they won or were destroyed. Not sure if it's the same now, but I'd assume so.

I remember that from galciv I, but havent seen it in galciv II. Wonder if it does the same thing.

I've seen this several times, pertaining to both major and minor races... But I havent seen these races become uber powerful or even slightly more powerful even after a significant period of time.

Perhaps its not fully implimented?

its supposed to increase all abilities by 1% EVERY turn.

the 1% everyturn part is more correct then the beginning part.

i dont know if its just beginning abilities, or all of them

i read it somewhere but dunno if its accurate...

I've had this happen to the Drengin when I was playing. As I had advanced espionage, I kept very close tabs on them. Every 3 or 4 turns it seemed 6 or 7 random attributes were bumped by +1. It could very well be every attribute was bumped by +1% and my espionage is just a rough approximation.

If it happened to a human player, it's kind of like an automatic win event.
