ramblings and such
from
JoeUser Forums
As some of you may be aware, Stardock (in the form of Cordelia, Draginol, and whoever they can trick into joining them) put out a podcast every Monday (PowerUser.Tv). I've been listening for a while now (since episode one, but who's counting) and often I feel the urge to comment at them while listening. Course, it's a recording can't do that. I could comment at their website, but I want to use my blog. So there
It has been a while since I last posted an article (a whole month, ut oh). Don't need to file a mydeathspace report on me, not that I use myspace. So why don't I write more articles? Could be unhappy and pouting, lazy and apathetic, busy hunting for Nirnroot's, or something else altogether. You decide...
Between Milan and I, you don't need to know anyone else is listening. That's more then enough audience
Americans do sue too much, that's a given at this point, but Starforce is evil. For those few that might still think it's not evil, it's made in russia and must be part of a communist plot to take over the world. And their uninstaller didn't work for me, although I think I managed to uninstall it on my own. But what do I know, my computer will probably explode from my tinkering any minute now.
Kill the geese. Build a giant bonfire out of their remains. Eat a few of them (cook them if you want, but raw would be more intimidating). Place their skulls on stakes around the building, scattering a few bones here and there. They'll never come back. You'll be the scary monster other geese tell their children (gooslings?) about.
Oblivion downloads, where to start with this. Official downloads that are on a site beyond the control of Bethesda, yet they want you to pay for them while not being responsible for your personal information? I have no problem paying for a full fledged expansion to the game, but this is ridiculous. What next, charging for patches/bug fixes? Not to mention that there is already a thriving mod community out there. As I told my brother (talking about Sims 2, but it applies here too), if you can imagine it someone has made (or soon will, for such a recent release) a mod for it. Like the topless mod. I'm aware of two, one that removes the bra like underwear from women, and another that does that but also takes off everyones shirt. Technically not nude, since they still have on panties (or whatever you call that dirty garment), but a step in that direction. Considering how many nude mods were released for Morrowind, it's only a matter of time before that is gone too. As for the leveling, it's not that different from Morrowind. Creatures (items, etc) leveled as you did too. I'll agree it feels more blatant this time, but if you don't like it mod it off. Or control your level, don't sleep, don't level. Considering that mana regenerates and you start with a healing spell, sleep only servers to level and advance plot points. So in short, I don't like Bethesda charging for mods, and if there is an aspect of the game you don't like there is probably a mod to change that.
So how much is Stardock being sold for?
For anyone that didn't listen to the show, I doubt this made much sense. So now you have to go listen to understand my ramblings (woohoo, another listener, my work here is done).
