Worst Star Trek Character

Worst Star Trek Character

Ok, now you now.  I love Star Trek!  The original, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise.  I miss it too, as well as the 10 movies.

But watching TNG (I have a stupid chest cold so am taking vicks cough drops and staying away from my co workers), they are on the Second season of TNG.  And I hate Diane Muldaur!  Excuse me Dr. Kate Pulaski!  She is the worst actor/actress on any of the series bar none!  How could they have done such a boner to get her!  I thought I was rid of her when she fell down the empty elevator shaft on LA Law! (Oops, that was a stunt double.  DAMN!).

So who is your worst character in the Star Trek Genre?  You can pick any of them and tell us why!  Just dont tell me you love Diane Muldaur!  Gaaaaggggg!

I always hated in both the old and new series when they put the characters in an anachronism involving actual historical periods (eg, the old west, romans, nazi germany).

I would not group them all together.  Some were not bad.  I think the ROman one was a big stretch tho.  How about the Greek one with Miguleto Lovelace (I cant remember the actors name)?  That one was pretty good.

Harry Mudd

Speaking of which, G4 is running an Uncut Marathon, and Harry's Venus drug episode is now playing! Co-ink-a-dink?

I hated My mother.. You didn't see it on the show, but she kept taking my temperature with the anal thermometer, almost daily. And she had one of those neat little computer things that I KNOW had a temperature reading. I suspect that she's not my real mother, but I can't find anything to back it up.

So where did you go with the traveller?

Well I won't say I'm a really big fan of Star Trek since I barely saw any of the original episodes and I don't like them much today and I have not seen all of the first movies before TNG. I do however like THG, DS9, Voyager and Enterprise a little.

My Fav character would have to be Data. Like me, he never stops talking, always asking question and never seems to fit in at first. I am however in love with Counselor Diana Troy, man what I would do to that woman in the holodeck. Hell, if the holodeck is as real as they make it seem, then I would be happy with a holodeck programs with a few Diana's running around in the many different outfits she wore on the show.

I agree about Dr. Kate Pulaski, can't stand her stupid mentallity. I did like Crusher however, I wouldn't mind her in the holodeck as well.

In memory of Lt. Commander Data (1987 - 2002)

I love the Galaxy Quest DVD. They have a screeching, howling "Thermian" language track for the film, like the aliens' native tongue. Good stuff. ::

Support for the Wesley Crusher bit! It's not so much that Wes was a bad character, per se, but Wil Wheaton is an ass hat.

Another that always bugged hell out of me was Vash. Worst captain's lover ever!!!!

From what I know of wil wheaton, have read, and have seen on his other efforts, it is the other way around.

Yeah, Wil Wheaton's blog is pretty good, I've read it a time or two.

I'd like to vote for the holodeck as least favorite character -- it was a really awesome idea, but did any of you see the Voyager holodeck episodes with Tom Paris as Captain Universe or whatever? Terrible. The holodeck was a toy that the writers were too indulgent with. Even in "First Contact," the best of the TNG movies, we have to endure a 40's gangster holodeck scene, although I admit that it was better than anything done on Voyager.

I also remember Alexander and Troi's mother taking a mud bath in the holodeck before her failed wedding...gahdawful...two of my least favorite characters exploiting the most indulgent of plot devices...yech.

Yuk, just the thought of that woman naked under that mud makes me sick, not to mention the poor kid had to see it, better him than me.

I hope you don't mind me saying but my all time Fav character is Seven of Nine. Ohh that is the girl of my dreams, likes to play hard to get and seems to like it borg style (resistance is futile).

Spot on about Kirk. I personally think 90% of the original cast/crew were dreadful.
I really Geordie from Next Generation too. Not so much because of his peachy-keenness (although that is irritating) but, primarily, because he so obviously isn't a Geordie.

That was in the episode with Emperor Garth.  She did not last long.

I like the characters he plays, but I dont follow the private life of actors very much.

I thought that the holodeck was a cheesy way to put in extra story lines, so I agree.  However, the Moriarty one was pretty good, if Diane Muldaur had not been the captive.

Can you imagine her husband making her go to all those orgies?  What kind of idiot was he?

I was very surprised (pleasantly so) to see Levar Burton sign on the cast of TNG.  I think he, more than patrick Stewart (who remembers the Avengers?) gave the cast a lot of weight.

I never liked Jadzia Dax. Great to look at though. I loved when the character O'Riley kept singing after he turned off the ship's engines in the original "Naked Time" episode. I had a Kim Darby crush after seeing the "Miri" episode. She seemed so sweet. I always cringed when Geordie would say they were running a "diagnostic" on the computers. I also liked the slide levers on the original transporter better than the touch pads. And this isnt a character but the insignia communicators on TNG lost the charm of the originals. Who doesnt take their flip cellphone now and open it like the originals? Everyone!!!! And when doing so, the chirping noise is in your head. Everyone, except for the Herberts!!!

So true! It is one way that real world technology caught up and kind of passed the original.

And I remember Cawliflour ear and the Herberts.
