Worst Star Trek Character

Ok, now you now.  I love Star Trek!  The original, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise.  I miss it too, as well as the 10 movies.

But watching TNG (I have a stupid chest cold so am taking vicks cough drops and staying away from my co workers), they are on the Second season of TNG.  And I hate Diane Muldaur!  Excuse me Dr. Kate Pulaski!  She is the worst actor/actress on any of the series bar none!  How could they have done such a boner to get her!  I thought I was rid of her when she fell down the empty elevator shaft on LA Law! (Oops, that was a stunt double.  DAMN!).

So who is your worst character in the Star Trek Genre?  You can pick any of them and tell us why!  Just dont tell me you love Diane Muldaur!  Gaaaaggggg!

I didn’t really like Kess on Voyager. I don’t know the actresses name. She was replaced by 7 of 9. Now I know what you are thinking, but I love THE BORG! The SNG series on the BORG was the best star trek ever. Deep Space Nine was never my cup of tee. I just think that was poor writing. Live Long and Prosper. Great post

If there was one that I always felt disappointment upon seeing, it was Ensign Ro Laren on TNG. I never bought her rebelliousness vs. the trust that was put in her. It just always seemed pouty and cheesy when she was a major part of the plot. The only one that was really good with her, imho, was the one where She, Picard, and Guinan were turned into kids. She was in other good ones, but they were good in spite of her, omho.

If you note, she acts almost exactly like Bones.

Doctor in Drag?  Yea, she may have acted more like Bones, but Muldaur just plain cant act.

As for your comment about Berman vs Roddenberry, if you watched DS9, you can tell when Roddenberry died.  Because all of a sudden all the series was concerned about was war.  I think it went down hill after his death.  Perhaps Roddenberry should not have been the director, but his stories were definitely better.

Um, is 'slimy smartass' enough of an explanation?

Ok, was just curious.

As for the dubbed ones, are the available on the internet?  I would like to see them if so, or at least snippets.

I'm not a good trekkie because I can't remember her name but I hated that religous leader on DS9. She didn't even have to talk just seeing her made my blood boil. I guess it's just the type.

um, I think it was the kai - I knew it would come to me.

My favorites were Kira, Odo and for some reason I loved Gul Ducat.

Vedic Winn, although I do not know the actresses name.  But Gul Ducat was a very good villian

Hard to argue with Jeri Ryan!  But the Borg were kind of neat.  Probably the only villian that was pure evil.

I agree.  Her character never computed.

Kai was the title.  The Kai was like the pope, with Vedics being like Cardinals.  The original Kai was Opaka and she was that Cherubic lady.  After she died, Vedic Winn was elevated.  She was the nasty one.

So doc have you ever been to a star trek convention? Can you speak Klingon? Just wondering how far this goes. You really know a lot about it.

some guys here in germany re-dubed several episodes of TNG. Quite funny

Neat. Where can I get that?

Speaking of German Star Trek.

Has anybody here heard of Starship Highlander and the infamous Captain Norad?

Now there's an excellent parody!

"Romulans!"

Let's see...Neelix from "Voyager" always bothered the heck out of me...Picard's clone from "Insurrection" was pitiful...Wesley Crusher was pretty bad...Worf's son, Alexander...Troi's mother...and Q has to be my least favorite of all of them.

My favorite characters are the original cast (especially Dr. McCoy), Riker, Chakotay, and Christopher Plummer from "The Undiscovered Country."

Chang:  "I am constant as the northern star!'

McCoy: "I'd give real money if he'd shut up."

Cheers!

Not really.  My son has a Trekkie for a teacher, and he blows rings around me. But I do love all of the series.  I actually hated TNG when it first debuted (FarPoint station still blows chunks), but got into quick enough.

No, sorry. this is the first mention of it.  Not all great shows are in English.

I have to agree with Chakotay.  He was the best character on Voyage.  The others were good as well.

I have been a Trekker from day one. Been to several Trek conventions, saw Dr. Spook once in Charlotte 25 years ago or so, been to Paramount's Trek show in Vegas, and can't say too much I don't enjoy about that world. My least favorite character was Troi's mother, I think. Something about that voice! Be well

That would be Mrs. Gene Roddenberry.

WOW!  YOu really want to get on the Trekies voodoo list!

Random thought a propos of nothing in particular. Remember when the kiss between Kirk and Uhura was a huge interracial thing they were being forced to do. (shocking).
Then on TNG we had all kind of interracial and interspecies relationships...So don't you think tht by the 24 th century, humans would be a lot more homogeneous? Everybody would be a neutral toasty beige, kind of like the new racially ambivalent Betty Crocker?

Also Nurse Chapel on the original.

Some guy in Germany made two or three episodes of Starship Highlander ("Raumschiff Highlander"). For copyright reasons, I think, they haven't been shown again. I was one of those lucky enough to watch two of the episodes when they were on during Star Trek special nights in the mid-90s.

Higherlander's captain was the famous Captain Norad, who had a few irritating attributes:

- He usually got up late and often didn't take a shower; and it showed on his uniform (black spots on red uniform).

- He was consistently always frightened when he looked at his science officer (who was one of those aliens with a funny-looking forehead).

- He absolutely HATED Romulans and would always assume that the Romulans were behind the problems experienced by Highlander's crew. (His tagline was "Romulaner!!!")

- He had a variety of Batman and Kingkong costumes to change into before battle.

- He never understood the fact that the federation has its own huge space stations and would always try to destroy the huge doors/gates to escape them (instead of requesting for them to be opened). His crew usually stopped him. (Space station command would then reprimand him and tell him that if he destroys another space door he would be charged with treason.)

- His socks were highly aromatic, an attribute he managed to focus on by removing them on the bridge, smelling them (this would cause a very short shock) and then flapping them in the air for a bit to clean them.

I believe they have made more professional episodes later but the original two seem to be lost.

This feels like 50s radio.

Have you seen Blake's Seven? Caulk guns and blow dryers as weapons. The insignia is > instead of ^.And it's NOT a parody. Just a low budge British knock-off.

But you really can't enjoy Shakespeare unless you hear it in the original Klingon. lol. That movie was a huge rip on political correctness. And a good one at that. Probably one of the best Star Trek movies.
