Black screen with sound on game startup

Upon starting the game, all I get after the update, is a black screen

The game worked fine for me before the patch - now I just get a black screen when the game runs - no intro sequence and no menu after that - I hear the sound but nothing else. Help please.

Please post your debug.err file so we can see if there is an obvious problem. Also ensure you are running the latest video and sound drivers on your pc.

I had the same problem. I updated to the latest gfx drivers from nvidia and it cleared the problem up for me.

We can't do anything without the smartexception debug.err, the game should have installed SDC on your comp, download smartexception from the "free stuff" column, and use the debug.err it creates, copy paste into notepad, then onto here
