My WP got rejected

I just had my wallpaper rejected, saying something about not meeting the guidelines. And I'm not sure why... I would like to upload it, and it didn't break anything. It works, made completely by me, no images taken from other sources, no nudity or pornagraphy, and no advertisement within the wallpaper, just a little text message that you don't even have to extract out.

Typically, only the wallapaper section is moderated for quality, but it is difficult to be specific about the moderation process. Lets just say that a lot of submissions don't make it in.



Our guidelines for judging wallpapers on aesthetic grounds are difficult to be specific about. The prime directive for wallpapers is that they must WORK as a wallpaper, in other words the design should be an effective desktop background, which includes: The background is not too busy and icons are easy to see against it, Colors are not too bright to be distracting, and colors work well together. There are many subjective design related preferences we all have and some objective qualifications as well, such as the quality of the rendering and the resolution size offered. And then there is the composition, the subject matter, the overall balance of the design, etc.


Try again. Then try some more. Then again.

Simple gradient blue swirly type thing with words across the middle? - three of the main reasons for not accepting a wallpaper.

LoL..Join the masses...Walls have to be really good to be accepted, alot arent accepted and alot more wont be accepted.. Keep creating, Keep submitting, and if one is accepted, that in itself is an accomplishment!..LoL!!

Definatley hard to get a wall up here....But then again I have to say there is alot of CRAP in the wall gallery here that I have no clue how it made it in.......I rarely save walls from Wincust anymore...Although they do get some that are just freaking dope.....But yeah too many Terragen and abstract swirly crap for my taste.....

what's all the whining I keep seeing about a wall being rejected?

I've never had one pass. I've never whined about it.

Don't like that megaupload site thing either. Way too much irritation for a zipped blue blurry wall that could have been posted on photbucket for free.

I don't know that walls have to be good per say as alot of work in the gallery is quite blurry and jpeg'd i think you'll find that wincustomize has a certain style to their gallery to differentuate it from the multitude of others.Alot of rejections seem to be more about keeping a certain feel/style to the wallpaper gallery.

I have used Photoshop once and can create a better backround, sorry to say but they didnt deny it because thay thought it was pornography

obviously you didn't put in a graphics program, resize to 37.2% of original, flip horizontally, invert colors & squint.

This is odd, I don't think in the 5 years of WinCustomize that anyone has ever had an issue with a wallpaper being rejected..

Yeah..And something really needs to be done about this, I dunno...maybe a petition, they seem to be popular these days...
Or! since the Polls working again(it was broken I just know it) lets have a poll to see whos for or against the sensless rejection of wallpapers...


None of the above directly addresses any one of my personal beliefs, it was a momentary possession of my fingers while hovering over the keyboard, I swear!!!
