Best planet evar!

I once colonized a class 19 planet, excellent in it's own right, especially in a game with habitable planets set to 'uncommon'. However, upon that world I found the most ridiculous bonus ever: it said that the square contained the remnants of a Precursor mine, and gave any manufacturing sector there a 700% bonus! Can you say, "This planet is where I'm building my Manufacturing Capital"?

But it doesn't count, because it was a custom race and I had fiddled with the PQ number, probably wouldn't have had either of them otherwise.

Racial PQ number does nothing atm. Well it will increase your max pop but who f-ing cares about that for 8 skill points!? You get 0 additional squares. Test this by chainging it in you abilities file to like 50 and you'll notice only the same number of squares (10 on a pq 15 world). The landing event though where you can either chop trees or use a precurser device to improve the planet does add squares. Just the skill doesn't.
in either event changing pq numbers does nothing ever to add bonuses to a planet. They are generated in the begining of the game.

I had a nice planet once that was a PQ 8 but had a 700%, a 300% and a 100% to manafacturing. The only trouble was it darn near broke my economy to run it ( on a medium map with 6 oponents).

That one planet cost so much to run I started having to focus it on social spending even when it wasnt building any buildings just to keep a cap on it. It also made it harder when I actually wanted my other planets to produce ships (when I got into wars) beacuse I couldnt afford to push the spending up on the military slider.

I both loved that planet and cursed it

I once found a class 72 planet (it belonged to teh Iconions). No, I didn't mod it, nor do I know how it happened. It was so late game though that it din't really matter, but still cool, I kept the save game.

That's nothing to do with it. I went into customplanets.xml and changed the file "custom homeworld" from pq 10 to pq 21. And added some rings too, I like ringed planets most.

Best I've gotten so far was a class 26 with a +46% PQ bonus from the precursor artifact choice. Only two bonus tiles, however, and both were influence. Still, with the economy boost event the planet was pumping out around 3.5k bc per turn, and even after it finished it grew to the point where it was over 3k.

I think, the PQ on a planet is all depend on what mode did you run in the game, with legendary, and thing can possible. However, personally I never really like to try to play larger map with regular gaming, which will take too long and I love to finish a game in couple hours of play time. I think, the game is still needing more observation and examination to get the best concept out of it. Each gaming method are capable to win the match, it really depend on what taste you have and favor.

After I still feel the pq 72 unbeiievable, since maybe it only happen to legendary. Win a 72 and improvement tiles, I think, with that single planet, we can pretty much doing take anyone in less than 3 to 4 years.
