Big problem with big icons in the taskbar

when i create a horizontal taskbar with big icons everything looks fine ///
big icons should be 32x32 und small icons should be 16x16 i guess ///
and they also look like that ///
but i can only click the big icons in an area about 32 pixels width and about 16 pixels height ///
which means the area over and under them is too small ///
any ideas how i can click big icons in an area of 32x32 pixels?
