Default Theme???

I installed the WindowBlinds today on my computer and at first I thought it was awesome but when I chose the option "unload WindowBlinds" (I think thats what it was called), my theme never went back to the way it use to be. The one I am use to having is the "Windows XP Style" "Silver". I took a screenshot to show you what my desktop now looks like. It looks like the Windows Classic Style. It's not shiney or modern like the way it usually is.

If I cannot get my computer back to the way it was, I will not be very happy with this program.

WINDOWSBLINDS ACTUA DIRECTLY IN VISUALS STYLES OF YOUR XP LEAVING THE SKIN OF WINDOWSCLASSIC BOTTOM...BECAUSE? BECAUSE IT IS The LIGHT MAS SKIN THAT HAS YOUR XP SO THAT WINDOWSBLIND 5 WORKS CORRECTLY And WITHOUT ANNOYANCES....THE SAYING...WINDOWSBLIND 5 VISUALS STYLES OF XP ARE NOT VERY FRIENDS.......Or YOU USE A THING.Or YOU USE The OTHER......

Click the "Apply" button in the screenshot and then reboot your machine.

If the silver default "Windows XP" is not applied when you restart, open the Display Properties again > click the "Themes" tab > select "Windows XP" in the drop-down list (if already selected, just open the drop-down and click on Windows XP to invoke the "Apply" button) > click "Apply".

If all is well, you will be looking at the default Windows XP "Blue Luna" shell theme. Simply click the "Appearance" tab > select "Silver" from the Color Scheme list as shown in your screenshot > click "Apply".

There is a known issue with WindowBlinds 5, where (in some cases) the Display Properties dialog will not incorporate fully until a reboot after attempting to use it the first time after installing WB 5. I saw this while testing the beta versions previous to official release, and have continued to see it when doing clean installs. Once you get the Display Properties fully incorporated after rebooting, there should not be any more issues with regards to using the dialog to change the shell style and colors.

Note - if this does not fix the issue, then try applying the "Windows Classic" from within WB 5 configuration panel > open Display Properties\Themes tab > select and apply "Windows Classic" there > reboot > reopen Display Properties\Themes tab > select and apply "Windows XP" > use Appearance tab to select and apply the "Silver" color scheme.

I hope this helps.

Please ignore BIODIGITZMAN's comments. He may know what he trying to say, but it's obvious he has no idea how to say it.

Something that I have done when I couldn't get the original XP to show in the display properties was this: go to

"My computer"
"C" drive
"windows"
"resources"
"themes"

once you have opened the theme folder you will see folders but you will also see the theme files. Once you click on the Luna theme file the display properties will come up showing the luna theme. From there you select the color you want and then apply. If you are not sure if the file is the theme file, hold you mouse over it and you should get a box that comes up stating "windows theme file".

Wow none of you guys addressed the original question at all. I have also experienced this problem and am looking for a solution or am wanting to notify Stardock of this issue. The only way I found to get around it was to uninstall window blinds, reboot, then right click the desktop and use Windows themes to re-apply the XP theme.

Also, he's not " saying " anything, he's " yelling " and it's quite rude.

I am not sure why you say that, as I indicated a couple of options to try to address the issue (which I ran into during beta testing).

The original poster did not respond in any way (post is now 3 months old), so it is not clear whether the problem was fixed or not.
