copperdeck again

OK...I'm now official. YeeHaw! Using WB5...the paid version...and Iconpackager enhanced and CursorXP free. Cookin'with grease, now!

However, now that I have the paid version of WB, my favorite theme...CopperDeck 2 WB5 no longer has the rollup window button...??!! And although I now have text on title bars...which I didn't have in this theme with the trial version...in some windows--such as the Display Properties window, the text is offset to the left from it's proper place in the title bar.

I want to make sure that my installtion of WindowBlinds is working properly, so...does CopperDeck2 WB5 have bugs in it that show up in the paid version the way they did in the trial version? Does CopperDeck2 WB5 need a minor re-write or am I missing some setting or something?

The roll up window button is not there as extra buttons are not supported for WB 5 skins. It has been mentioned in forums but I can't remember if it will be added in the future. As for offset text on some windows, there are 2 settings for text, with and without icon. I think the without icon text margins may need to be adjusted. I can't check it right now as I am running a virus scan, I will post back later once I am able to take a look.

For rollup window, open WB config, User Overrides, Advanced settings, there you can set double click and right click options for titlebar.

OK, it looks like the text margin settings are not working for per pixel WB 5 skins. I was able to get text to move by changing content margins for Caption in SkinStudio. Open skin in Skinstudio, Explorer tree, Window Borders Per Pixel, Caption, on left Section tab, Content margins, I set the left value to 25. On Display Prop. window text is now where it should be. Note, since this is the content setting for the caption/titlebar, text on a window with icon that is in right place now will move to the right.

Cavan,

Thank you for that information. I don't have SkinStudio, but I wouldn't want to misalign the text on the titlebars of those apps/windows that are working just to "fix" the text on seldom accessed windows that aren't. If this is a bug, however, I would think the author would want to fix it. CopperDeck is a nice looking skin.

BTW, the tip about rightclicking on the titlebar was spot on...thanks.

No problem DWFII.
I, just to make sure, tested the text margin settings on a WB 4 skin, it did work for it. So this is not a skin bug/issue it is WB 5. Per Pixel frames act different than standard, hopefully this setting will return for WB 5 sometime in the future.

Cavan,

Thanks...hope you won't mind if I ask another one...

As you can tell, I'm pretty new to this and I'm kind of fixated on CopperDeck. I've looked at almost every WB skin from today back to 2001 and have seen some I like almost as much but , well, I really like the looks of CopperDeck.

But now I've noticed another problem that wasn't there with the trial version of WB--if I open an application such as CorelDraw or WordPerfect, for instance, a document or photo will open up in an internal window, if you know what I mean. And that internal window is skinned like CopperDeck2. When I maximize the internal window, however, I get Windows Classic buttons on the right hand side. The parent window is still skinned with the round gem-like buttons but the internal window has flat squares. These programs didn't do that with the trial version of WB...but then they didn't have an text on the titlebar either.

Also the task bar (along the bottom) seems to get hung up pretty easily and won't pop up unless I mouse over it several times.

If I'm missing a setting I'd like to know what it i...if not, I wonder if Treetog can be reached by email and if he is open to people asking him about this skin? Or reporting possible bugs?

These are called MDI apps, can have multiple windows open within them. When the MDI window is maximized the classic buttons and menu bar are used as they are not yet supported for WB 5 skins. Per pixel window frames, these are the transparent WB 5 ones, as I said above are much different than WB 4 window frames.
The reason you had no issues with the trial version is that the only WB 5 skins that worked as a WB 5 skin where the ones included in the install. Ones downloaded from WC like CopperDeck would have applied as a WB 4 skin when using the trial version, I should have picked up on this fact earlier, sorry.
For CopperDeck, all the WB 5 parts are in there, just that some are not yet part of WB 5.
As for the taskbar, by what you are saying it sounds like you have it set to auto hide, if so, I have my task bar displayed all the time so can't help with that issue.
Other than Taskbar as I am not sure what issue is, everything else that you are calling bugs are not, they have just not yet been added to WB 5.

Cavan,

Well, thank you that explains the midi buttons issue.

I shouldn't have said "bugs" I guess. Neil Banfield said that there was a bug in CopperDeck with regard to the title bar issue and the trial version of WB...I just picked up on that. I don't know one way or the other if they are bugs but sometimes an author of a skin will "talk" to you about his skins and I was kind of hoping treetog was open to that knd of thing.

Oh well. Guess I'll just have to wait for another version of WB before CopperDeck2 WB5 will work fully.

thanks again.
