Colony ship missing

I'm not really sure how this happened, but in my first game when I wanted to build a colony ship, there was no colony ship in the list of available ships to build (took me a long time to figure out this was a problem since this was my first game, I kept thinking I needed to research something for them). Anyway, I have played a few games since then and the colony ship was available from the get go in those games. I just thought it might be worth mentioning and was wondering if anyone else had similar problems.

Did you maybe "obsolete" the colony ship in that particular game? If you hit the "obsolete" button in the Ship Yard, it will remove the ship from the buildable ships list for that game. If you start a new game, the ship will be back in the list.
