I just wanted to ask, what about hotseat mode? It can't be so hard to implement hotseat, it is a turn based game, is it?
There is still one game, one very old game (LOL) that me and my friends still play togeather when we hang out at my house, and that's Heroes of Might and Magic III. There's only one reason for that: hotseat!
I also remember the times when every day after school i ran to one of my friends for one reason only: to play moo2 hotseat with him!

We want hotseat, now who's with me?

You just take turns playing on the same computer. You take your turn, get up, your buddy sits down and takes his turn, he gets up, you sit down and take your turn...ad infinitum.

Personally I think this would be torturous, especially early on, but to each his own.

Hotseat is when you take turns at the same computer, switching in and out of the same chair presumably.

Wow... that does sound torturous. I try to avoid moving my body as much as possible, so that doesnt sound fun to me. But, Im sure other people would enjoy it... if they like to move a lot

Actually there is a way to play hot-seat in the released version.  But it's unofficial.  I'll talk to the team on how to officially document it.

Torturous? Heh...me and a buddy of mine frequently play hotseat Alpha Centauri and MoO 2. To avoid the moving-about procedure described above we implement a cunning system of 2 chairs and 2 sets of mouse\keyboard

Then again, if you're the highly competetive type you may not want your opponenet to see your moves, but we always play as friends and gang up on the PC players so it's no concern to us. Also, he's the MoO 2-expert and I'm the Alpha Centauri-nut so we educate eachother along the way.

If this game is as good as I hope it is I really hope hotseat is possible, we could use a new game

Need hotseat. HoMM3 was a regular weekend thing in college for three years solely because of hotseat. Having the ability to pass games back and forth with college buddies I haven't seen in years would be perfect.

Hmmm..... Hotseat would imply PBEM (provided you trust who you're playing with), though not in a convenient manner.

well, in heroes III, we somethimes have 4 chairs (if there is 4 of us) and there is no need for extra mouse and keyboard; the player that have his turn just lean to the computer and that's it... damn, i fell down a year on college because of that, every day, from 8AM to 3PM, we were playing heroes of might and magic III, damn...

you don't actualy need to document it, for now, it will be suffitient just to tell us how to do it, and document it later... come on, we wont tell anybody!

I remember playing every saturday at HOMM2 back in high school with a buddy of mine

Does anyone know if it would be possible to set up a two-screen-on-the-same-computer kinda thing. I know some guys who do it while working to have access to multiple programs at the same time

Japata, why would you set up a two-screen-on-the-same-computer kinda thing? It's turn based strategy, so you take your turn, he takes his turn, why would you need to look at your screen when it's not your turn?
