heh - I was at the world introduction of digital sound Sony did in San Jose. It was a machine called the PCM-1 which hooked up to a betamax VCR. During the show I told them my idea for beta which was to put the sound in the video signal to take advantage of the writting speed and bandwidth/dynamic range. The regional VP, Dennis P said I want you to tell that to some other guys and he brought out two Japanese engineers. I told them my idea including where to put the signal (between chroma and lum

adni18 - If your point is that the inspiration for MS' wallpaper could have come from seeing yours, that's real different than "have took my "XP Wallpaper" and they change it with slightest modifications, to monochrome blue, without any notice or permission." My feeling, like paxx, is that it's a coincidence. If you believe they were inspired by seeing yours then I can see where you'd be proud that they were affected by your work. As far as it being a rip, it's not even as cl

The whole XP - Aqua OSX - etc. issue starts flaming threads for obvious reasons. When an "art" site gets inundated with posts that include logos, backgrounds and images that are copyrighted a lot of people get upset. Please, let's not go into that again here. The XP craze has generated many skins and wallpapers that use Microsoft's images. The wallpapers that have MS wallpapers lifted from the software are definitly not appropriate here. There are still several which should be exiled l

give me a break... it's not even close. I had to do some searching to find both walls but I was curious. adni18 - sorry but the only similarity is that it's a tilted logo. Tilting is not protected by copyright laws The MS wall quite obviously does not have any of your image in it. I noticed someone else already ripped the MS wall... jeesh - that didn't take long. Why don't you guys do some

I think I'd pay up to $8 for a coffee mug. Maybe more if neccessary. My friend's mugs were made in China and $5 was his landed cost, after duties and freight. Maybe he exaggerated to give them more value They were exceptional mugs though. There's a lot of quality differences in promotional products. Sometimes it's worth it to buy a higher quality piece for a little more money (since these won't be g

Looks like a coffee cup would be pretty popular. I'm not sure what the going rate is, I think it depends a lot on who makes it. A friend of mine made promotional mugs for his company and they cost him $5 apiece with two color screening, but he bought hundreds of them. Jafo - designer luggage and signature perfume? would that really go with a baseball cap?

T-Man - I assume you were being cynical. At least, I hope so. There was an issue in the courts about wether it was appropriate for a Texas high school to allow a student to say a pray over the PA at the begining of each football game. In the coverage a news channel interviewed several students and asked if they would mind if another faith was allowed to say a pray too, maybe rotate randomly as there were a couple other denominations that had asked for the privilige. One of th

I wasn't sure what you were on about kenray and then I spotted the category you're pointing out. It's in some other sections too. I suppose you could change it to "Religious" to welcome all faiths but then the section would probably be the site of a terrible war...

Reading the article it sounds like they're still going to be a browser, they're just trying to call attention to some other stuff they're doing in conjunction with TW/AOL. Pure advertising hype. Fittingly though, when I first opened the article it crashed IE on my computer brought down the whole deal, closing every window that was open - pretty funny...

will you have a shopping cart on this site to buy the CD? If you do I think you should sell the stardock sweatshirts and t-shirts too. Maybe even make a wincustomize t-shirt... (you'll have to give one to China for advertising though )
