He has definitely found a way to abuse the system and is trying to recruit people to his empire and teach them how to use algorithms to beat the game. He has tried to recruit some of our empire's best players (including myself) as he posts regularily to our empire's main thread. Vulcan2 We will have to agree to disagree on that point. The game difficulty takes a much larger leap in GalCiv2 from crippling to the top 3 levels, yet because of how the game scores points you quite often end up with a lower score at the higher levels. This is because it takes a lot longer to achieve domination at the higher levels, so you do not accumulate many early game points. Maybe Cari does know what the Metaverse formula is but the formula that was given is not it. Either it is a misprint or the Metaverse developers are using a different formula. As far as I have read in previous posts that Carrie has addressed, she is not directly involved with the metaverse. The first post is very close to what is being used.

Thanks for your support Norad. But you are right, Jarru can rattle off suicidal victories on Gigantic maps much more often than I can. My 3 year old computer gets slow as death after about 3 years on a gigantic map. It sometimes takes me 20 minutes just to play 1 week. Thanks again and hail the new king JARRU. "Load Applause". Most of the original beta testers before the release of the first version of GC2 were GC1 players that had posted over a hundred games each to the GC1 metaverse. I posted almost 200. I hope they are not finished yet because not only were the 1.1 beta scores not recalculated the other betas that were originally recalaculated are back to their original scores. Some players that haven't played in months had their scores increase by about 50%. Check out vigilante and mayito888's scores. They are prime examples.

It looks like they used another totally different method of recalculating. The old Beta scores are still massive and some games were actually increased. I hope they are reseting the recalc that was done a couple af months ago so they can do an overall recalc. Mayito888 has not played in months and all the Beta games that were played months ago were increased in value by about 50%. M888's score jumped from 254,000 to about 360,000 with this new recalc. Zubaz I agree, His title was a little harsh, but I also understand his frustration. A lot of us have been posting and replying to posts on this problem since the game was released. Yes they did a recalc. It was not finished though. The 1.1 betas were not recalced. Ever since the unfinished recalc, we have not received any responses from any of the devs as to the current problems. All we are asking for is a response. "Apparently thats how GC1 worked." I checked the GC1 website and found that I am still in the 12th place even though I haven't played a GC1 game in over a year. I think the system only updates the totals when you submit a new game. This is why the three or four players in the top 10 or 15 in GC2 are still there. gallagher118 It is up to you. If you start a new character, I would say that you would catch your old character in about 10 games. All games you submit at this point to your original character will only have about 1/3 of their value added to your total. With a new character you would get the whole shebang. CommanderFutility I agree with you, stardock does work their butts off solving problems with the game. The problem I see is that they keep starting new projects and continually have to work the bugs out of those, before they have finished solving existing problems. I have seen many posts over the last few months, and read them all, pertaining to the metaverse problem and have never seen even an acknowledgement from the devs that they have read our posts. They are great at crushing bugs created by their new additions, but the metaverse seems to have ZERO priority. I agree with Shamgar that it should just be a simple total of all games played. TBAY

CraigHB As soon as you play your 6th game, your total score for all 6 games will be divided by 2. Then when you play your 11th game all 11 are divided by 3.

gallagher118 I am sure that turning off tech trading does not give you any bonuses. One of my lowest scores on a huge map playing at the suicidal level was with tech trading off. The game is much more challenging and more fun with it off but you are not rewarded for it. Disabling victory conditions gives you a higher score as a military victory has the highest multiplier.
