No luck on the standalone notebook, either. I get the same problem running at 1440 x 900. Also, for what it's worth, I disable my desktop icons to get the .Dream running. After minimizing a full-screen window, the .Dream is gone and replaced with a solid-color desktop. Any ideas?
Just re-apply. This is an issue with the fact that we are sharing the dialog for desktop properties. Sometimes settings left over can get applied inadvertantly. <p
Any word on this "update"? I'm actually a beta tester for ATI drivers and they are not even aware of anything being done when I checked with them.
We are working directly with some of the developers at ATI. There are many different parts of the development and BETA testing teams. We have a driver in our possession that we are BETA testing that resolves the CPU utilization issue.
Bootskin Pro update. There is a new version of Bootskin Pro that fixes the problem on English clients. (1.00.035) We had two issues that were confusing the issue, one was an international issue. We are still working on the non-English issue and hope to have resolution shortly. Also, Bootskin Pro was not showing up for Object Desktop (non-Utlimate) users. It should be showing up shortly.
If you were having problems applying Aero Midnight skin, please update Theme Manager and try again.
Vista 32 Bit SP1 did update still not working? Bootskin app
What version are you running?
Installed updated bootskin pro, and unfortunately it still doesn't work properly for me. It says the skin is installed but I only get the default aurora (the still image, not the progressbar thing) image when booting.
That is how it will work. Microsoft hides the boot animation when a boot skin is applied.
If you can not get the suite to install with my colors or theme manager. change .suite to .zip and extract, then apply the skins as wanted. Remember to Zip the WB folder up and change .zip to.wba then apply the WB theme.. Example Aero Midnight.suite would be changed to Aero Midnite.zip
We think we have a fix for this issue. Please hold off if you can for the new version of Theme Manager to be published shortly.
If you are running Deskscapes, please follow the FAQ guidelines . Also, please remember that Deskscapes is a graphically rich application like a game and therefore requires the latest video drivers. If you have not done so in a while, please update your video drivers to the latest version before applying. Some users have reported high CPU utilization using
The Bootskin Pro issue on 64-bit has been resolved. A build is being published at this moment. Please let us know if it works for you.
Zargon, dude, I know you are inundated with all the bugs and such, but with so many people saying the same thing about one theme, maybe you could let us know you are working on it. Each and every complaint is coming from an XP user, not one is on Vista.
We are working on this Aero Midnight skin issue. :-) Please stay tuned.
Currently Deskscapes and Theme Manager are not showing up for Object Desktop 2009 (non-Ultimate) users. We will have this addressed shortly.
I too am having the issue with Theme Manager and the new Skin not being applied. It is not in WB and I cannot find it anywhere on my drive, nor for that matter can I find any of the skins (where are they?) You should release a working app, instead of having is hunt down files on our systems and copying/renaming them in order to work. Have you tried using a clean machine to do these installs/checking/replicating the issue, as you will have the files in the right places if you
And on a sidenote, why is the icon for email the same as the one for the controlpanel in the aero midnight iconset? Doesn't really make sense.
This is a known issue we are going to resolve.
Presently I'm unable to run both Deskscapes and IconX - is this a known limitation, or should I be able to run both simultaneously?
IconX has been discontinued for new customers so we did not test it against Deskscapes XP. Those products are not going to work well together.
We have not been able to reproduce the issue with Aero Midnight failing to apply. Can those exhibiting this problem please post how they updated applications? SDC or Impulse?
Is there anything else I can try? Thank you for the help!
Deskscapes is probably not compatible with your Codec. Please check out the instructions (the list the Microsoft codec we are certified against) try using a codec manager to disable all codecs except the Microsoft MPEG decoder. That should resolve your issue. Do the dynamic dreams fail to apply as well? Desktop Earth? Those do not rely on a video codec.
We have updated Soundpackager to fix the activation bug. We apologize for the inconvenience. New version 1.10.025.
I UPDATED Soundpackager as required for use with Theme manager 3 (Windows Defender off and Firewall diasbled) and now it insists that it needs to be activated and gives me "Activation Error (stage 4)" each and every time............I've put my OD ultimate serial in with my email and no go
Ok, this is officially a bug in the code. An update will be available tomorrow morning sometime that will resolve this issue.
Is BootSkin Pro going to be released for XP in the future? I have the alpha of the XP BootSkin so I'm good, just curious.
A qualified maybe. With the advent of SP2 for XP there is a supported, reliable way to update boot screens on Windows XP. We may merge the applications. (Bootskin for XP and Bootskin Pro).
This is not at all clear from within Impulse - despite the fact that I renewed via Impulse.
You don't have to do anything if you already have all of your applications up to date. Today we updated: Theme Manager Bootskin Pro WindowBlinds SoundPackager Deskscapes You should see updates available for those applications if you were already up to date.
MS Office 2007 is no longer skinning.
Did you update WindowBlinds to 6.3?
We just published Bootskin Pro. Please see update to first post in this thread for details.
When I try and start a dream on Dreamscapes 2.5, my PC thinks for a second and then does nothing. This happens with any dream I attempt to run. I just downloaded the latest 2.5 version today using Impulse.
Do you have a video codec installed? Do you have DirectX9 installed? You will need both to apply a dream. See information here about this: https://www.stardock.com/products/desk
When I apply the Aero Midnight theme, the wallpaper, icons, and gadgets appear, but the Windowblind doesn't change. If I look under "applications" in Theme Manager, the Aero Midnight windowblind is not listed.
k10w3 - Vista or XP?
zargon, like k10w3, i do not have aero midnight listed on the applications tab of theme manager. also, i have almost all of odnt, including windowblinds, installed.
Did you apply Aero Midnight? It will not show up until you apply it once.
