No mention has been made of the evidence indicating a multi-monnitor set up is related to the issue. That seems to be a common delinator of the issue. In my case upgrading to version 4 'fixed' the issue, but in more likelood it is because I am careful not to alter my multi-monitor set up.

Devs seem to have given up.
Quite some time ago the common use situation of multiple monitors being related was all but confirmed. Though the devs made no mention of that.
For me it's the fact that coms from the devs have slowly decreased and any indication that they are even working on it is reduced. I'm no longer experiencing the issue, but I feel like it could come back at any time.
Judging by how slow responses are now from the devs I think they have given up.
That is a very interesting observation. I also have 3 screens and have not had issues lately, but I have not turned off any of the screens... Curious.
Quick update from me, I update to a trial of 4 to see if that helped a few days back now. So far no crashes. Can't say I want to pay for 4 though as I still lack confidence in the software.
I made no changes. In addition I can't think of any changes (other than the upgrade to Win 11 a few weeks ago), that I have made. I shall try the trial of 4 and report back.
That's correct the 'clean boot' using the purge directions worked, but for less than a day and then the error re-appeared and Fences crashed again. It's a shame, as as you can see I have not even been using Fences for that long, I am wondering if using the new version would help, but I am obviously reluctant to pay (even the small amount) for software that isn't currently functional. I have once again removed the software from my machine.
Just wanted to add my report of the issue to the 'relatively few'. Running a modern machine (more specs can be provided if needed), Windows 11. Tried to uninstall and reinstall after reboot, Fences 3 (don't love the no free upgrade path for Fences 4). No other Stardock software or multiscreen software installed. This is very Unfortunate to say the least, especially as there seems to be no idea what is wrong. <span style="text-decoration: line-thro
Great news! Thanks to all those involved.
I wait patiently, but there is a limit to that.
I would go for Ultimate Edition or it's impulse equivalent, purely because I would want everything I could get for my money. I would also get it from Impulse, though its a lot more money than the UE in the shops. Hmm, if I had known about this problem before purchase, would I have still bought it? Yes. Even though I have not played the game due to the problems with the patch, I still will when the
I thought as much, like I said in an earlier post. Lucky them!
Whismerhill is there a reason you are so quick to defend? I mean I have still not bothered to play this game due to a lack of update. For the reason of, like you said, the save more than likely not transferring between them. I want to start the biggest game available for this, spend weeks being immersed in a universe and I have still not had the chance. I expect something, even if it's just news, in the new year. I would imagine most of the 'team' are currently on some kind of vacation. It do
Oh, see, I saw Ultimate and thought it was the same thing. Damn.
I dont think you can be faulted for complaining about this problem on the developers forum. Its very frustrating and some of us have been waiting quite some time now. I can see that others might be to blame, but the fix can really only come from one place... Anyway, hear is hoping the new year brings a fix for this sooner rather than later. My thinking is that it will be supported when the ultimate edition becomes available to download off Impulse anyway.
Guess what I am having exactly the same problem... Much sadness. I also got the exact same response from there customer service people. I am patiently waiting and not playing the game until I can patch it all up. I can wait as I have played a lot of the vanilla Gal Civ 2 without the expansions. I just hope this is all sorted soon. At least I now have a thread to bookmark and keep an eye on, and someone to blame, Kalypso. Stardock have indeed never done anything wrong for me in the past. I do
