How its suppose to look how it really looks i put arrows pointing to where you can see the soft light bleeding through

I made a MP4 from a GIF i made, i used soft light on an overlay image to fill an alpha channel. In the normal video the soft light only shows on the skin of the person but when i set it as a background it shows the entire soft light layer. anyone know why this happens or any possible fix
