I ran into the same thing and was quite confused for a while. Everything posted above is true, but it still took a few more steps before I could reliably change icons and have the changes stick. Here's the process: 1a. Copy the .png or .ico file you want to use into the package folder and give it a unique name. Say you have an icon you want to the "pictures" personal and public folders -- it could be named myPackage.folders.pictures.ico. This uniq
