(not sure about all of this...) PHP can do caching, but it has to be coder-implemented; not an automatic thing. For example, one method would be to output an HTML file every 2 hours (or whatever time you choose) and load that instead of grabbing everything from the database again. I know there are better methods for caching in PHP that do exist, but I'm afraid I don't know much about it.

I learned the basics of PHP from a Link very well-written tutorial. Had to adapt a couple things, as the article was written for PHP3 (register_globals comes readily to mind....) but it showed the basic parts of PHP (the C/Java and HTML background I have helped a lot) and interaction with MySQL (which was completely new to me). After I mastered everything in t
I know and love PHP, but have no experience in ASP, so I can't make a fair comparison between the two. But something confused me in the article. Why two lines in the PHP page? Wouldn't it simply be: Only one line, right?
Obviously just my personal opinion here, but I have had several very negative experiences with DesktopX, both versions 1 and 2. They tend to freeze on my computer. A lot. I think it might have to do with incompatabilities with other Windows-modding apps I have installed, but both versions usually lock up after less than five minutes of use. When they don't lock up, they create more problems than they solve, and I never use them anyway. I have my computer set up how I like it, and wh
Any updates on this? I'd love a Trillian section at Wincustomize, mostly because Trillian's own skin section sucks.
How about a name of said graphics card company, Frogboy? Also, I'll be in this if I can get my act together in time. I've tried skinning before, but it turned out like crap. Let's see if I can make it better
I, personally, do not like The GIMP. I found it hard to work with, largely because of it having no "real" window, but rather a bunch of seperate windows that you must bring up individually. I like having a large "container" window with all of my seperate graphic files in, with toolbars & tool windows spread around in. Another problem I have with The GIMP is how it's Linux based, so it doesn't have most of the common Windows keyboard shortcuts. I just don't like the layout at all. I find it
I agree with karb0n. Changelogs are very useful in knowing whether or not it's worth upgrading and knowing whether or not you want the changes and features that the upgrade includes. I know this probably isn't the best place to say this, but I'll say it here anyway. Other than that, I still love bootskin
Uhm... no real "point"... just pointing out something I thought was cool *shrug* EDIT: For those who haven't figured it out yet, I meant adni18's skin number. [Message Edited]
