I found an old DS 8 installer and have gone back to DS8. DS10 was starting to drive me a little crazy with its endless bugs, not going online, then not showing dreams. Going back to a version that works is life-improving.

Is there a place we can still download DeskScapes 8? I'm really tired of fighting DeskScapes 10.
I tried the Purge and reinstalled, and rebooted. Nothing is changed. I still cannot set a Dream as a background, either from Deskscapes or by right-clicking on the Dream.
I am also suddenly having this issue. It worked yesterday, after rebooting today, can select and change still backgrounds but not Dreams. Dreams seem "stuck" on a previous Dream and will not release. Also right-clicking on a Dream in their folder and selecting "Set as Desktop Background" no longer works.
Ok, what appears to have been the final resolution on both the Windows 7 and Windows 10 builds: 1. Create a new profile on each OS and migrate all data to that profile. 2. Making a new profile alone turned out to be only a temporary fix and problem returned. 3. Find updated NIC driver online from Realtek site, not from ASUS site for this z-87a motherboard. The driver on the ASUS site for the motherboard is old and has the problem.
The new profile has also stopped working.
No worries--you are not coming across as a jackass. In fact, I appreciate your giving me someone else to bounce this off of. You are correct, there is a firewall in the router. The router feeds both physical Windows 10 computers, on one of which DeskScapes 10 works, and on one of which it does not. There is effectively a third computer involved, because on an old SSD that I don't use anymore, I have an old install of Windows 7 from the physical PC where DeskS
> I will agree with the "or something." No single firewall exists across two different OS installations, one Windows 7, one Windows 10. I'm using the same antivirus / firewall package on both computers, the other Windows 10 computer, DeskScapes works fine. The only thing common to the two OS's on the computer in question is the hardware itself. And yet nothing
I tried with a TPLink AC1200 wireless adapter, fresh driver install, new to this system. Still no luck. I would actually wonder if there was damage to the motherboard or ethernet adapter, but everything else works--all browsers, Multiplicity, all games including World of Warcraft and Elite Dangerous (both online games), Microsoft "Metro" apps, etc. On testing my Ethernet connection, I am getting 71 Mbps download and 6 Mbps upload. I had Virtualbox installed (a VM
I can't explain it, but I can tell you something genuinely strange. I have an old SSD that has Windows 7 on it for this system, back before it ran Windows 10. I put that SSD in the system, booted the old Windows 7 system, and installed DeskScapes 10. And it will not go online. Exactly the same behavior. Entirely different OS--only the hardware is the same. Here's some details of the hardware: motherboard: Asus Z-87a wi
I know what the host file is, but I have not modified it on this system. This is my own system and network There is no proxy. This system has a wired connection to my router. If you are about to ask me to rebuild my computer, I am about to refuse. :) I'll periodically check for updates, hopefully you'll find and fix the bug somewhere down the line. Thanks for your help.
Clearing cache doesn't help. I also tried running DeskScape using the "run as administrator" option--made no difference. Prior to installing DeskScapes 10 on this system, I was running a previous version without the online option. So yes, DeskScapes has worked on the system before, but no, not the online version.

I did a video capture but don't see how to upload it. Here's an image:
I have done the following: 1. completely uninstalled BitDefender 2. turned off the Windows Firewall 3. uninstalled DeskScapes 10 4. ran the "purge" and rebooted 5. verified Windows firewall still off after reboot 6. reinstalled and activited DeskScapes 10 ...and it still won't go online. When you click on the "online" tab, you get the error "No suitable backgrounds have been found.
I have done a normal uninstall and reinstall a couple of times now. I have also done your "purge" and reinstall. I can reach WinCustomize on the PC through any browser with no difficulty.
As you requested, I followed your "purge" procedure and reinstalled. It made no difference, the program still will not go online.
I am running the new DeskScapes 10 on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit version 1809. DeskScapes works as far as setting Dreams but cannot go online to look for new Dreams. When you click the "online" tab, you get the error "No suitable backgrounds have been found." I have uninstalled and reinstalled DeskScapes 10 with no effect on this issue. On a different computer, same network, running Windows 10 Pro version 1903, I am not having any issues. Both computers
