I'm having the same issue where it disappears on primary. The 'gradually' disappearing part is coming from the switch from the primary to secondary. To test this I activated the shift must be held to switch displays option. In doing so if you just switch back and forth you'll start to see the mouse on the primary become pixalated to the point of no longer seeing it.
