It seems feasible that is Windowblinds has not been working effectively without massive modifications, that Curtains would similarly suffer. That being stated, they are ready to release the BETA of WB11 so while I hate assuming, it does seem logical that they will have curtains sorted in the near future. I only suggest this because both applications rely on the inner and outer workings of windows and it's applications and skinning. As for me, I will watch as I a
Not at release - we need to get WB11 operational on Windows 11 first before we can go down the path of updating studio.
That makes perfect sense considering you've had to partially reinvent the wheel due to Win11 being unable to use some features. It stands to reason the skinner will have to accommodate those changes as well and you'll remove the options that simply won't work. P.S. - I'd
There are a lot of smart people and loyal long-term supporters here and more. I read as much as I could that was different and not a repeat of someone else's. I additionally read what the dev's said about how windows 11 has affected the development and content of windowBlinds and Curtains. I could be wrong and it's just my take on it, that it seems Stardock has decided not to release a crappy product. I say this because it certainly seems that a large proportion
Hello, So far, there is no further official announcement yet on development of Curtains for Windows 11. Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
Thanks - BTW - I installed it on Windows 11 as a trial by changing the compatibility on the install executable to Windows 8. It installed glitch free ( Install only read on )- HOWEVER - The window panes work, the taskbar wor
believe there is plan to release a new upgrade version of Curtains that work with Windows 11 within 2022. Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
Is this still happening or is it on the backburner?
Considering that Stardock successfully modified parts of Windows for ages, to say they are completely reliant on MS is not completely accurate. Microsoft has a reputation of not considering many of their 3rd Party developers and manufacturers. This stems way back to early releases of Win95 where alpha versions reputedly destroyed hard disks. Nowadays, if anyone wishes to read the MS EULA, which is marginally less time-consuming than watching paint dry, MS can pretty much do almost whate
Just wondering if older skins will work with win11? I have a windowblinds skin that worked on WB10
I get that sometimes it is a pain in the rear to read longer threads or search even when there are masses under the same topic. We'd all like to be doing something productive unless reading is our job as a paid moderator. That said I believe some people have successfully implemented it by doing edits - which they
Considering how long Windowblinds has been around perhaps Microsoft should cut Stardock some slack and send them some code they can include so the application that has been purchased worldwide by many users works as it always was intended. What would I like to see? That. Simply, that MS comes to the party and helps their third-party developers and users, remembering that they serve the clients who buy their products, not the other way around. They are the vendor, not GOD.
OK it has taken a while to work out what the heck is going on... It is not the AV because basically Defender and everything is disabled other than for incoming. Auslogics Boost Speed is the culprit. It has a cache cleaner. The sig file sits with the cache file so it decides each clean to remove it. They have to be put on the ignore list. You were on the right track, only it wasn't an AV. Thanks for your assistance. :) Please close the ticket. Thank you.</
I have no idea what happened but it just stopped authenticating? I would like to say what you suggested worked but it did not. It just stopped. No firking idea what or why? The license file has been there all of the time since the first and when I deleted and redid nearly two days ago in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Fences4 (and Deskscapes) it
I purchased these two and both said 'activation successful' and have now eight times I have done it. Fences 4 and Deskscapes 11
Same problem - Is this because the version of Deskscapes that I purchased is the 11 Beta? It is not going away. I followed your link and the command prompt does not work for version 11 either.
Hey people, I appreciate that you are attempting to resolve this but it comes down to two things. 1. Deskscapes and Fences 4 were purchased, all you have to do is look at my purchase history and yes, the email addresses are correct whether I use the key supplied or online activation. The issue is Descapes and fences keep wanting to reactivate. 2. I need them to stop reactivating full-stop. How?...... Thank you. :)
The issue is with Deskscapes 11 FFS. It is Beta which is what my message said and what Stardock sold it as and it keeps wanting to re-register so does Fences 4 which I also just purchased??? Could you please forward this to someone who knows more because if I have to re-register everytime I login and use it, then it will be a total pain in the rear and I will uninstall both of them
