I had the same issue, though not sure if it was because of windows update. Anyway, just figured out what happened. It was the quick hide feature. Just double-click on your desktop. Alternatively you can disable this by: Right-click on desktop -> configure fences -> quick hide tab -> uncheck "enabled" For me that brought the fences back.
