Ok... perhaps I wasn't clear in my original post. I have TWO new Object Desktop licenses purchased about 2 months ago. NONE of my issues involve Start 11 (hence why this post is in the Object Desktop forum). I don't have Start 11 installed at all. In fact that is a separate issue involving Start 10's program list. My OP has two paragraphs for two separate issues. I only br

I re-activated my product subscription and because I wanted to check on my download location before the software updated my software with the new key, I bypassed the popup that allows me to activate it. Now I have NO options to do so from the interface. Exiting and restarting doesn't bring up the popup again. I have no way of entering the product key except to wait for the arbitrary popup. This really should have been an option already unless there is a way in a much l
You're looking for taskbar buttons label yes? If so, it already implemented few released back. Have you tried latest Start11 release? Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
I had just gotten a brand new laptop last weekend and installed Object Desktop, including Start11. I don't know why but it didn't install the latest version. I had to update in order for the new option to app
I upgraded Stardock hoping this feature would be here by now. Nope. I am not going to ask for a refund but I WILL NOT buy another license for Stardock Object Desktop until this feature is available. Luckily I think there is another product out there I have read about which can supply this feature. I will not use Windows 11 unless I can have labels. I rely on them way too much.
Several other posts on same issue. Followed directions on main 3.13 post and it is fixed.
After a Fences update to 3.13, I chose not to reboot when asked because I wanted to finish what I was doing. I shut down my computer an hour or so later and when I started it up again, ALL my desktop icons and fences were gone. This has never happened to me before (except when I accidentally auto-hide which is easy to bring back). I soon found out that when I right click my desktop it says "Enable Fences" at the top. It is unchecked and does absolutely nothing when c
Command line documentation would help too if there isn't an API. I discovered a day or two ago that Start10 can be stopped and restarted by using the command line (or processes in code). So if I made changes to Start10's settings in the registry, I can use shell/process commands if an API isn't available. ("Start10 unload", followed by changes, followed by a "Start10" command). If an API isn't available, then any similar command line documentation for the other OD applicatio
Does Object Desktop have an API that can access changes in appearance for the various OD applications?
Is Curtains essentially a new theme manager? It appears to be. What Object Desktop applications can be themed by Curtains? I already read that it can affect Start 10 which is definitely a plus for me. What other ones? Sound packager would be nice. What would really be nice is if it worked with Windows Personalization, integrating wallpaper, the lock screens, screensavers, etc. How long before a full release (non-beta).
Thank you Basj. That was a big help. I found them all under my previous installation's Users folder. I will move them to my installer backup. Do you know if Stardock has resolved any of the issues I mentioned?
@basj... I have had dealings with you in the past (see my post history if curious). I really liked OD when I first came across it. However, you guys seemed enthusiastic about my suggestions and then completely went on without implementing them. As of now I really only regularly use Fences, Groupy (which is STILL rather Buggy), and Start10 (which is also buggy... the "MRU" list which is what decides what applications appear on the start menu based on program access fr
Here you go. https://youtu.be/6S7XT8t7TEQ It seems that the "setup" is really just a subscription manager... absent the typical setup files. In my experience this is not how most installers work. Case in point: My Corel VideoStudio installer from several years ago (which I used to create the above video) downloads the product (approximately 2GB in size) from the internet and then
primem0ver ....during the time you were currently subscribed you had continuous access to all the actual program installers associated with the subscription [and any updates during the same period]. As with anything purchased, whether online or bricks-and-mortar the vendor cannot be held/deemed responsible to replace something you yourself lose. Such a situation is like wanting Time Magazine to replace all t
I am pretty angry at this situation. I keep all of my installers and installation media but this one won't let me install a product I purchased previously. I have to reinstall Object Desktop because my motherboard died and I had to get a new one resulting in my losing access to everything (meaning previous installations... not my data and not my installers). The license agreement doesn't say anything
I don't use Acrobat. (I prefer Foxit, which uses tabs but that isn't the issue here). I use groupy almost exclusively with Windows Explorer (folders). I generally have a lot of folders open at once, hence the reason for grouping them together. For me, the issue occurs when switching from one folder to another, particularly after more than one folder to folder click. It doesn't happen every time but it is pretty consistent with how often it happens.
I get this issue too. This is a periodic but consistent issue for me.
@ basj Thank you. Upon my delving into Object Desktop Themes, I have noticed that it is not as all encompassing as I thought or would have liked. Start Menu and task bar customizations for example should be implemented as
I have been a fan of Object Desktop for a long time; even though Windows 7 was enough for me without it. I recently purchased Object Desktop for my 2 in 1 Windows 10 installation of Object Desktop and came across the Theme manager. It is nice to see that this exists as it seems to integrate the different possibilities with Object Desktop reasonably well when it works. However, a few issues and suggestions for both Theme Manager and Object Desktop. Most importa
Hello all, I recently added a second monitor to my computer and I want to use two separate desktops. One on each monitor. So I am trying to decide which software I should get. Ordinarily I would just go with DisplayFusion because I have used that in the past and it does what I want it to do. However, eventually I am going to be forced to update my computer to Windows 10 (probably in a year or two when I update my computer with a new processor and motherboard.&nb
