Quoting Rhonin_the_wizard, reply 57 I think an in-game encyclopedia would be a good addition. You could learn some things from speaking with aliens, but the encyclopedia would be more detailed. Like the Codex from Mass Effect or the Civpedia from Civilizations. <b
EDIT: Mouse for menus and conversations is good. Same goes for the outfitting-your-ship screen, and I guess, building your custom vessel. And I can see some mouse input clicking on what star you want to travel to... But stop there!! I think we're going
satoru1 This game MUST come out on gaming console platform & thank god it is. If this game is to succeed, they will allow all types of gamers to purchase this game and not be stuck with the crappy 1 option of owning it only on PC. Otherwise, might as well call it Star Control 3 and see failure before it happens. I truly HO

As far as combat is concerned, I always disliked the fact that I would be up against 5 UQ dreadnoughts, I'd have 11 ships with the Vindicator and I had to face them all one by one. What I see: you do "rounds" of combat: You assign which ships are going to attack which enemy ships. So you could gangbang an UQ with a spathi, a Zoq-Fot-Pik and a Shofixti, while assigning a Chmmmr to another and your Vindicator to a third. The player chooses which ship to control (the r
3: Modding tools: If you do get to use the legacy races, would they be implementable with the modding tools you intend to ship StarConIV so people can make their own campaigns, stories and the likes (And perhaps a recording tool for amateur voice acting?). Or are you going to let the fans create their own models to implement into the game?
Stardock already said that the new opus would be named StarCon
Moving onto something constructive and out of the mire... The original Star Control II had a fixed amount of time that you had to get things done. You could lose the game easily enough just by pissing away time visiting planets and traveling, though events helped drive you in the right direction. I really enjoyed that sense of urgency, whether it be trying to get the Pkunk to turn around and not visit the

Same thing here. I do testing and QA on a business software as my day job. I would love to be able to do the same for the all-new Star Control. Test something fun, now THAT's a novel idea :-)
Challenge #1: IS Star Control Star Control without the Spathi?
Spathis are an old favourite. Having the Spathis around would be tantamount to getting home, putting some well-worn-but-comfortable slipper and enjoy life. I don't want confortable, in real life. I want to be challenged. The world is my playground. I want to know what lies beyond the ridge, over the chasm, at the bottom of a pit, in a natural cave or in an aban
