I too am puzzled by this, I usually just build low level manufacturing then upgrade to factories bypassing mines. :/ Who the hell knows.

I enjoy stardock, but hate the frequent updates requiring me to close and reopen it :/ Still pretty good.
/SAME Had to reinstall the sucker and I left media pack out this time. But it happened after I closed the application the hard way cause it was hanging
My installation died yesterday after I forced the app to close becaus eit hang after loosign turn button :/ Then everytime i ran it it would crash immediately with runtime error It's OK, I got no hate it's only beta, I just hope to have a full game one day
I think what the problem is that there is no utalization of the star in this game. That can be a sore point to any true scifi fan I just love the ring worlds and sphere worlds of SE4
Hmmm yeah that would make sense... But then that presents another problem. Since all the ships are different, how will I know that the ship I'm fighting belonged to another empire? Or is the AI going to stick to certain designs so I can see a pattern?
Complaint gets more attention
All this talk reminds me of SE4 diplomacy (Space Empires 4 for the less intelligent ) Where you could demand for weaker civilizations to enter into agreements with you. From outright surrender to co operative ones, to ones that were a bit more one sided to your benefit but allowed them to exist unmolested <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="abs
I've noticed the colony ships too I played on very easy and it was the only ship the AI built!
Hi, I know diplomacy is far off, but using galciv1 as modle I believe you will be able to trade ships. Now what I wanted in galciv one was to have your ship graphic not change when you give your ship to another empire, just have its color change. That way everyone knew who is suppling who with arms This is interesting concept, but didnt generate any debate. Now I pitch i
Well biggest problem is no one knows exactly how the system works right now. I mean if you do plz let me know! Either way and I'm only mentionign the unclean game for a point, Moo3 had an efficency system, it made the whole budget allocation more barable, but I hate sliders. Funding levels seem more accurate with a maximum funding lvl, cause 100% it just isnt realistic. And 05? Wouldnt that cause the infrastructure to dissipate? My biggest problem is that my colonies
Let's start witht he way you pick your abilities. You got one side with scrolling of 10+ option, but inside each of those there is only about 3 options :/ I think you can fit all your options on one screen if you redesign it a bit and you wouldn;t have to scroll around. This would especially benefit new players who don't even know whats there Now the other coplaint: Eve
The custom race picks are probably because it's Beta and they want us to be able to craft certain scenerios :/
There is problem with tech spacing most definately. I mean I was focusing on beam research. Now I was able to research a new beam weapon every 2 weeks What the hell? My average ship took 9 weeks to build. That's insane :/ I'll build a ship and already its guns are 4 generations behind.
Anyone? Maybe I havent seen the whole tech tree I plyed liek 3 games last night just to get my feet wet in beta3 :/
The dissapearign Turn button is annoyingness, but it's old. Now last game I had this happened I was clickign anythign and everything, and it turns out I was able to launch my enemies colony ships It's pretty whicked actually since he had a bunch in orbit I launched more than half of his pop :/ But yes main if the Turn button dissapears, game is hanging there. How do you
TBH I hate constructors in general. But yes the constructors were poping up every 9 turns even thou I only put one factory on every planet. I imagine someone who knows what they are doign might build em a lot faster
Im already having problems figuring out what to build and its only beta3! Please provide some more guidance so I dont have to play with excell on my laptop. I still dont have a good handle on the taxes system and those damned sliders! Last game i tried buildign one of each building sicne in beta 3 we have more than 3 kinds of buildigns now and I found that at 100% spendign level I still have surplus. Now this must be cause you implemented soem sort of savign mechanis
I read this under databank: Fleets. In (I) players could stack together ships and move them. Stacks of ships will still be there as a convenience but (II) will also have real fleets that will taken advantage of in combat. Fleet size will be limited by the player's logistic ability. So one of the many technological paths will be focusing on logistics. Big fleets of small ships or a few capital ships in a massive fire fight? Players will have that ability to
Got a screenie of it but cant host Basically after coquering planet using tidal wave attack i proceeded to rebuild the structures that were destroeyd. I saw that there was a space modual so i didnt build it. Later i tried to build a ship on the planet but it said there were no space moduals Even thou
How about an update on the styrofoam cave menace?
It was a fairly informal chat with 5 of us just bombardign Frogboy with questions in the brief interloops between him ehading off to take more screenshots
Well from what Frog said yesterday, there will be a max number of ships you can put in a fleet. He said a "dozen or so." This is mainly because you want that little window that pops up (or rather will pop up) when fleets engage showing the minibattle to be fairly accurate. So since they still havent decided on the number of ships in the fleet that probably means its not coded yet so I picked a good time to put my idea forward. basically I fear that a fleet o
Yes this is a wonderful idea, I call it my brain-child Basically we know there will be a maximum number of units in a fleet, I mean to keep the game sane of course :/ So I thought what if the number wasnt fixed but depended on another factor, like a different branch of tech? and the way it would be implemented is you would get a maximum number of comand points based on
Also I noticed since this game was going to be serious competition, strategy first nabbed publish rights, GG. Any news of weather this will have a real multiplayer as oppoest to the crap they had in se4?
