What I want is an editor that lets me create a map and put in events that fire on specific conditions or dates. Basicalyl I want to make a campaign with the idea from Paradox Interactive games that have a "historic" story with choices that have certain ramifications.
I'm betting on this game being terrible. Its from EA for one. Also if you ever played a Maxis game in the past you will know that this will probably be like Sim Earth and Sim Life and nothing even NEAR compairable to a Civilization or Master of Orion game. You guys all fell into their marketing scheme. As for origional? HAH! This has been done before, its just a combination of Sim Life and Sim Earth. You people are just too young to remember those. Saying it will
Yes I have this problem as well, the thing is that NOBODY replies to these so you have to spam the shit out of the boards to get anyone to even look at it.
I've been wondering this for a while but really didn't bother posting about it as it didn't bother me. My problem is that the engine "flame" from ships in combat doesn't work properly. It will either not show up at all or, in some models, will show up in the exact center of the basic template or in some other wierd location. Just been wondering if this is a bug. I remember a patch added an option to turn off engine flame, why turn it off when it doesn't work in the first place? Als
Never had ANY memory leak problems, it must be just the guy's computer.
later on 90% of the time a planet is not building, so you will get an OBSCENE amount of money if its done like this.
I usually have a few neutral AIs that are friendly with me, on occasion they will try to trade me a "neutrality" tech. They SAY what it is but it doesn't display on their side of the deal so I know they are trying to trade and not demand a tech. I think you need to put a flag on these techs you can't use when not with a alignment as untradable.
Good is not getting the shaft, their technologies rock.
Bonuses from events or resources.
I was just wondering if the fact that the flame particle effect that is supposed to come from the engines of the ship is bugged? The reason being is that on any ship you can see it, like the Terran medium star-trekish hull, it comes from the middle of the model. I think i remember in beta it working.... but it doesn't work now.
Actually the problem with "things coming from the middle of the ship" is the ships engine "flame". It doesn't come from the actual engines but from the exact center of the model, at least on the hulls where you can see it.
Here are a few of mine The battleship, tried to make a galactica style ship but decided on this. That is my favorite design of mine so far.
Someone on another forum posted a topic that starforce posted a pirated version of this game on their site. Can you sue them please if this is true? lol
I've been saying for a while that if someone put a decent effort into a dead genre, 4x space games for one, the fact that people are starved of it will make it sell. Stardock struck gold with this game, did it completely right, now its the #1 seller on many sites and has been in the top 10 on gamespot for a few weeks. Other companys try to revive a dead genre, dont advertise, or make a really crappy game, then the whole industry abandons it
i wonder about this as well.
One thing i noticed is that the AI loves to fill their planlets with influence bonus structures, and almost no or absolutely no factories.
i have a feeling that this is going to be ignored, if the next patch doesn't fix this i'm going to pub this post to 10 pages if I have to. Sure I know their are more important problems but people have been just brushing this one off.
unrestrcited tech trade makes 4x games more fun, unless your suck at diplomacy and pay no attention to it.
I wish people would stop confusing design decisions for bugs. Its not ment to be rare like that. A planet with 20billion population and fully built up is supposed to have lights, according to them. Its bugged.
They show up all the time for me, but I generally have to rotate the view around to the back side of the planets to see the lights. Yes I do that and it shows up VERY VERY rarely. Like I said, i've only ever seen it on 2 planets. I have looked for them hard and spent the better part of an hour look
Just so you know the lights on planets do not work. I've only seen them twice, both times on alien worlds, in 3 games. They NEVER show up on homeworlds as well, its as if only one or two textures are configured for lighting. BTW I have a geforce 6800.
BTW planet lights rarely if ever show up. In 3 games i've only seen them twice, both times on alien planets.
The game is not SLI compatible. As far as I can tell, I have the latest drivers for my Nvidia 7800 GTX SLI. This, unfortunately, is not the only game that is non-SLI compatible. Unforuntaely SLI has been implemented very poorly, if they got it right their would be suck problems.
