Also, the AI(at intelligent) seems to have trouble adapting to fast transports since I found at least 1/4 of there planets undefended and were able to strike any of these planets from any of my planets within two turns. Losing that many planets in a turn and taking only one or two back basically lead them to being unable to oppose me military wise. This occured through three seperate wars with the Terrans. Also, putting in 50bc/week into espionage on them I was able to steal 36 techs while re

I don't believe I've researched that one yet, but it sounds like it would increase your soldiering for when you invade, rather than being an armor for ships. I could be wrong?
I almost found I had to try to stay on good terms with the other races(besides Dregin), build starbases that let me reach to the top left and take the planet from the Drengin. Have to do this quickly, or the Dreadlords will just run you and everyone else over....but the Drengin usually go first.
I have to agree with everyone here. The bugs aren't your normal game killing buys from what I've ran into. Alot of them seem to be logic errors (variable not being 0 out, not being added together correctly, etc), and these type coming from a developer background can sometimes be really hard to catch unless you specifically looking for it . Having bought Galciv1, I'm sure all these will be fixed. To be completely honest, most of my probl
Once again, uninstalled application, deleted Stardock and everything in it, restored from .006 archive of main game, multimedia, tutorials and then updated via stardock central to .008. The only difference is that I skipped the standalone patch(.007) this time. Going by the gc2.log though, its hard to say why it was doing but it did delete a bunch of xml files and all multimedia and tutorials. *shrugs* At least it seems to be working now.
It might be insane, but it is what is happening. Also, it always happens right after startdock central while updating gets to the "Removing temporary files..." Before: Link Link #2 After: Link Link #2
Hmm, honestly not sure since I have a PC with that combination and it seems fine. Are you using the drivers for your video card from nivida.com or from the manufacturer(hp, dell)? Not sure what else could be happening unfortunately.
Didn't want to update with the standalone patch so I waited for the patch to be on Stardock Central. Once I updated, I found I didn't have any sounds, videos or tutorials any longer and checking the directories in the Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Galciv2\music (etc) shows them to be empty when all the multimedia use to be there. Going back to my archived .006 fixed the problem. Deleted everything and redid everything and it happens everytime.
Using Nvidia 81.98 drivers for a Nvidia 6800GT on a Athlon 64 3500+. Some minor bugs. 1) Hitting spacebar while watching a tutorial freezes (sometime doesn't the first time, but if pressed again) up the entire game. 2) Full screen button on tutorial screen when using 1280x1024 is not in the proper place. See screenshot here . Two minor bugs but might be something new peopl
