I was in the same boat and went ahead and ordered. I don't know for sure yet, but it looks like I can get access to the CE content (the downloads show up here: Link ). Presumably that means the package I will get in the mail is the CE?

That's what I thought, but at the same time I always got the impression they were kinda hedging on the physical goodies. That might be the result of confusion around the retailers who ordered the first-print regular edition instead of the CE, though. I'd just like a definite, unambiguous statement about the physical CE stuff for people who order a boxed edition from Stardock right now. If you have a link to one, that would be great.

I'm having the same problem with my local Gamestop. I preordered it, they don't have it yet, and don't know when they're going to get it. If they don't have it tomorrow, can I get the Collector's Edition box (the ship jewelry is nice, but what I really want is the paper tech tree; IMO, paper tech trees are mandatory for games with an interconnected tech tree) directly from Stardock, and if so, what do you need me to do? I can provide a pic

It looks like colony ships are a special case anyway. The normal ones are a bit better (in terms of how many components they carry) than anything you could design yourself at that tech level. You'd probably have to design your own from scratch anyway. Link

i dont think you can waste any funds in the game because any social production points you dont use gets converted into BC i believe (i read it in the manual somewhere) so technically your not losing any bc by having fully developed planets. Based on another post (by Frogboy) I saw a couple days ago, t

I bought GalCiv waaaay back near when it was first released, and enjoyed it a lot at first. After a while, though, I started getting frustrated with how dramatically the gameplay dynamic would change after some of the patches. To avoid that kind of frustration, I was wondering if GalCiv2 (in a patch, of course) could implement some kind of "classic mode" or a set of rule options to tweak. In "classic mode" the game would be set to essentia

Email the guy you bought the game from and ask him to email Stardock explaining the situation and to delete his account. Stardock's response is perfectly understandable: How are they to know you didn't steal that CD key or get it off a pirate web site? If they guy you bought the game from won't do it, you're SOL. That's what you get for buying used games from random strangers on the 'net.

An idea on overflow: If you set the build project to nothing (or Capitalism, or whatever), 1/2 of the production is lost, while the other half either gets put back into the system to be reallocated, or gets dropped directly into the empire treasury. Note that I said reallocated: No new money is being produced. In fact, money is being lost in the exchange. Some of it is just being redirected to a different location (the lost money is for paperwork, transportation of materials, bank fees, etc

I'm inclined to agree that the main problem is wasted resources, not starbases. Towards the middle and end game, the only reason I keep cranking out constructors at the rate I do is because I have nothing better to spend the military resources of those planets on, while I still need to have a reasonably high military production set for the planets that are producing something I need. After a while, keeping track of all those constructors (and waiting for them to move) gets more irritating than

I think there are a few issues that are floating around relating to the rate of patches. (I'm going to ignore the issue of people who can't tell the difference between patches that fix bugs and patches that add things to the game. There's nothing much you can do about people suffering from chronic cranial-rectal inversion.) The first issue is bug fixes. Faster bug fixes are pretty much always better IMO. The exception being if the bug fixes are being released effectively the day the

I dunno. You do end up spending a LOT of time and effort in making Battlehammers useful as offensive ships because of their speed limitation. I don't think the solution (if one is needed) is to nerf Battlehammers so much as it is to make Frigates and/or Battle Cruisers more useful. (As it stands now, BCs are almost useless.)

Is the AI supposed to be able to auto-magically move their empire capitol from one world to another instantly? If so, why? (I'm absolutely sure that is what happened, since it was very early in the game. One turn the system was unoccupied, literally the very next turn it was colonized by the Yor and already had their capitol there. I have saved games to prove it.)
