You should be able to find back the key in your account. Press the left top orb and select register product. Your key should show there.

I've had sort of the same problem but could connect through impulse to the irc chat not in game and i was able to join/create games. So dont know if its the same problem, but i solved the irc chat by using a non admin account (i'm using vista 32).

I've something similar. I can host a game without any problems and have people connect to it. since the latest patch i get the same error msg. But before the patch, i would just wait hoping i could connect.

i think there are 2 possibilities go the the special interest page , buy some political capital and you can hire an operative , but keep in mind that this will cost stamina or he found one behind a ?
