I would like to see the space combat readn relatively simple and arcade styled, with some automated RTS elements (like the Kzer-Za Ur-Quan dreadnought fighters). At it's core, Star Control was about fun and light entertainment, not hardcore space flight simulation or doctorate level economics and glacially slow tier progression (I'm lookong at you EVE Online).

As far as technology for new alien races, I would lile their to be that uniqueness that made individual ships / races interesting, while maintaining gameplay balance. I really enjoyed upgrading and customising the flag ship in Star Control 2 and would like to see this element return. I would also really like to see tiers or other ship classes for the new races. For exampke, an Earthling Carrier with automated fighters (like the Kzer-Za Ur-Quan Dreadnought), an Earthling battles
I agree that Paul Reiche amd Fred Ford's original creations / alien races should not be altered without their involvement or consent. Along with new races however, I would really like to see races that influenced by original alien races. For example, races that united (a hybridization like the Chmmr or an alliance like the Zoq-Fot-Pik). Or perhaps an evolved or sub-species that can trace their roots to original races (like a Human/Syreen r
Hi Brad and everyone, My name is Greg Williams, and since first playing Star Control 2 when I was 12, it still one all my all time favorite games. One that I still reload every few years, and enjoy just as much as I did the first time. I struggle to find a game of the same caliber in the modern age. As others have said, it has a perfect blend of arcade action, adventure, light resource management, exploration, ship customisation, quirky char
I know there may be some issues in continuity and creative rights, but I woold really like to see the original races return. They were such fun and enjoyable races and interactions, they made up at least 30% of the games' appeal for me. Whilst most other games featured stale, cardboard cut out, character templates SC2 had living, breathing, characters. It almost felt like you really were having a conversation with another being (even when/especially when it degenerated into name calling)
More than 20 years after Star Control 2 for thw first time at 12 years of age, it is still one of my all time favorite games. I still load it up every now and then and enjoy it just as much as I did the first time. Hearing about Stardock's reboot of SC2 is the best news I've heard in a long time (after the unspeakable disappointment of Star Control 3). I
