I have never downloaded anything from steam or stardock before, but I am about to do so with GalCiv3. As far as I understand it, you can either download the game from the stardock website or steam? But you do seem to need a steam account regardless of how you purchase it right? I did intend to get it direct from the stardock website, but I'm not sure which way is easier. I think I would need to go through steam for the frequent patches and updates anyway so should I
